Hhi so my beardi took a dump on friday and stopped eating from there. He has been very lethargic and lazy. He usually eats 15-20 crickets and hates veggies. It might be due to the temperature changing since spring is around the corner. Or is he shedding? I dont know what is going on

Lack of appetite and lethargy can be due to a lot of different causes, but 9 times out of 10 they are caused by a problem with the Dragon's lighting, temperature zones, or both. Can you possibly post some photos of both your dragon, and then of his entire tank showing how you have his lights set-up? Then answer a couple of questions for us? This will quickly either confirm the problem or rule-out a husbandry issue. Dragons, being desert reptiles, are so sensitive to their lighting and temps that even permanent damage and physical disabilities can result, so it's best to check it out now...You can just copy and past my questions under your photos, and then fill in your answers beside them, that's the easiest way...

-How old is your Dragon? Is it a male or a female?

-How large is his tank? What substrate do you have in the bottom of the tank?

-EXACTLY what UVB light do you have? (Brand, Wattage, and Type, meaning is it a long tube, a regular Compact Bulb, or a Coil/Spiral Bulb)...If it's a long UVB tube, what Strength is it (either T8 or T5)?

-How old is the UVB light? Is it sitting on or obstructed by a mesh lid to the tank? How far away, in inches, is the UVB light from your Dragon's basking spot/platform?

-What color of light does your Basking Bulb emit? What wattage is your Basking Bulb? Is it a regular Compact Basking Bulb, or is it a Coil/Spiral Bulb?

-What type of Thermometer do you use to measure his temperature zones (Stick-On, Digital Probe on a Wire, or Temperature Gun)?

-What is the current #1) Cool Side Ambient/Air Temperature, #2) Hot Side Ambient/Air Temperature, and #3) Basking Spot/Platform Surface Temperature?

-Do you have both your UVB light AND your Basking Light over the Hot Side of the tank, right alongside each other? Is his Basking Spot/Platform directly underneath both of the lights?

-What is his regular, daily diet?

-How many days a week does he get Calcium powder? Multivitamin powder?

Hello~
I bring good news. He ate again and looks to be fine. HE ate like he always does.
But I do want to anwser as much as I can though so I can know if I am doing things correctly or not

He is a he. He is 2 years old.I adopted him from a man who couldnt take care of him in June 2017.

His tank is 3 feet by 1 1/2 - 2 feet and 2 feet tall. This tank is used but clean and like new.
I use a temp gun. A 90 w hologen bulb. I was told that this can be use as baskin and Uvb? I have a 75w - 100w CHE. I also have a 75 w che on a timer. It is winter in canada and i have a drafty house. The 75w timer bulb only goes on at night to keep his tank at 75-80 degrees.

his tank needs to be cleaned. But this is what he has so far. I have more things for him coming in to make it less spacious though he seems to enjoy himself. I use a tile substrate because he is a messy eater and misses alot when he attacks his food. And I heard they can get impacted and what not easily on sand. THough I want to give him a sand bed in his colder spot of his tank so he has best of both worlds.

The bulb was recomended to me by someone on this site. It is this one I do believe http://www.lightingsupply.com/70par38-irc-fl25-120v.aspx this bulb is ontop of a mesh screen lid.

The che bulbs move around depending where he sleeps for now till spring/summer comes.

His dailey diet consists of 15 - 20 crickets a day. Lightly dusted with calcium. The crickets are gut loaded and vitamin fed. He generally gets a light dusting of calcium a day. About two pinches by my insect tongs.

The halogen bulb is good for basking and heat (I use one too) but it doesn't produce UVB which is a problem. I suggest getting a 22'' T5 UVB light and set it about 12'' above his basking area. That will combine with the heat and light from the halogen bulb and give him a nice basking zone with adequate UVB.

OK great. The one you linked is a T5 which should sit about 12'' above the basking area and will provide excellent levels of UVB. The 18'' ReptiSun tube is a T8 which is lower output and should sit about 6-8'' above the basking area for best results.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
