Ok, what do you do with a dragon who won't eat her veggies??? They say an adult's diet should be 80% veggies but she will hardly eat five bites of greens....and that is only if she's HAND-fed! What do I do?!?!
Miette is 19 months. When we first got her back in May, we tried a whole variety of things but she didn't want anything but greens. We finally settled on collared greens or swiss chard. She ate that up really well. But now she isn't eating much of anything except "meat", even though we offer (and leave in her dish) greens twice a day.
You might try mixing it up a bit again. She may have grown tired of the same thing by now.. hm..
Some folks also try the 'tough love' bit.. no more proteins until she eats her veg. I don't know if I could do that or not, though.
My beardie also seemed to turn his nose up at his greens. I had been giving him turnip greens since we got him this past summer, then all of sudden he was finicky. So I switched to Romaine but in reading some of the other posts, Romaine may not be an ideal choice. He did begin to eat his greens again. I also noticed that once my greens reached a certain ripeness, they were not welcome. Just make sure the greens are fresh...although the greens I offered were about a week and a half old, he was not interested. Maybe this will help.
My dragon is very picky so we make sure her greens are very fresh!! She likes them crispy and juicy. I finally found a way to keep them fresh but she is still rejecting them. And I seriously think she has a princess-complex. We now not eat any greens in her bowl. She has to be hand-fed! What's with that?!?!
