not coming out of hibernation

Hi all! I am going to ask about this subject because I know nothing about it. For as long as I owned beadies I have never hiberanated. But I might have to rescue a beardie who should have woken up a long time ago. The pet store that I go to has had beardie for at least 3 months (that I know of) in the same state. I was told that he was in hiberanation and they couldn't get him out of that state. I want to know how to "wake up"the little one or could he be..."gone".

i dont think it will be hibernation at all, i will put money on incorrect set up. You need to make sure the UVB IS CORRECT (REPTIsun 10 TUBE) and the temps are perfect, and measured with a digital therm with a long probe.

If your not sure if hes still alive, i would pop him in a warm bath, or pick him up. 9/10 they will wake up for you, even if it is to give you an evil. If the pet shop isnt sure if hes still alive i would wonder about the car they have been giving him, even if it was hibernation he should be given a bath once a week!

Hello,

The first thing is to review their set up with them. Geez, if they are that calloused to where they have no idea if he is even alive, I would request that they relinquish care to you with NO charge for the dragon at all.
If he is that lethargic, he is either no longer with us, or very very ill. So, you may need to get him to the vet for a check up & a blood test, etc.
Please let us know how he is doing.

I am taking him home tomorrow! I went to see the beardie today to check on his condition. He is awake, ie he is moving around but his eyes are closed most of the time, but he does open them (his eyes look weird though); like whitish with dots in them. But when he is at his new home I'll take pictures so you all know what I'm talking about. And I am planing on taking him to the vet! Keep you posted... Take care all
