not ate sense 11/7

So I'm having so issues with Princess we had to wait 13 days for a uv night and then after 2 days the fixture stopped working. So I have to wait until friday to get her a new one. So now we are doing on pretty much 19 days with no light. She has not ate sense Sunday now. She was eating about 90-115 crickets a day and eating tons of greens. She is a pig let me tell you. lol. So I switched her into Chaos tank and him into hers. Kind of mean because I"m taking from him however 2 days will be ok.

I went and got some baby food and did get her to eat about a ML. I"m not sure how much to give her but that's all she would take. She is still active and glass danced for a while this evening. Anything else I should be doing?

Hello,

Could you tell us more about your tank setup please?
What type & brand of UVB light do you use, a fluorescent tube bulb or a compact/coil light? Well, which one did you have previously, the Reptisun 10?
Do you have a basking light on currently? If so, what are the temperatures in the tank, & what type of thermometer do you use? A stick on type, a digital probe or a temp gun?

Well she seems to be doing better tonight after only eating about 30 crickets this morning I got her to eat about 75 tonight so I'm hoping that she will be even better. She is sound asleep already but has been going to sleep about 8 which is odd but it is dark by 6 here now so I don't blame her. I will post some pics tomorrow Its getting to late now.

Well things are still not going so good with her. She is hardly eating anything maybe 20 crickets a day when she was eating about 100 a day. she is still eating a lil of her greens, no butter worms, and maybe 2-4ml of baby food a day. she still looks good has last a bit of weight. I have been giving her a bath daily to at least keep her hydrated. Could all this be because it is cold now? But I thought they still would eat. She is sleeping for about 16hrs a day then seems to get up to lay under the lights for a bit. I have been keeping the heat light and UV light on in case she does come out and I"m not home.


Here is a run down of her tank
retisun 10.0 18in
100watt reg house bulb for heat
55gal tank
staying about 103 on the warm side, about 87 on the cool side and her hid is 97
she is about 14in long now I think she 7-9 months old
I have been offering crickets 3 times a day (normally only 2 but trying to get her to eat more)
fresh greens daily
bath daily (for 3 weeks now) was doing every other day

Hello,

Well, your tank setup looks pretty good. Are you using a digital probe or a temp gun to measure the temperatures for her?
How far is the Reptisun 10 tube bulb from her, & is there any screen in between her & the UVB light?
At her age, it is possible that she is just slowing down a little bit due to the colder season. It is quite normal. Though she is only 7-9 months, they can & often do go into a semi brumation phase but still graze her & there. They just become more lazy & want to sleep a little more. It has to do with not just the cold, but, the tilt of the earth & the shorter days. They can tell that the sun is less intense very easily, just by where it is in the sky. The seasons really do affect them.

I agree with Tracie....just the change in weather and since you moved her to a different tank for a bit, it's new to her and causes some insecurity. Your dragon sounds like it eats roughly twice what another dragon would generally [ as provided by most owners ] You probably have a big husky girl ! I am interested in seeing a pic as well, and I'm sure there's nothing to worry about. Temps.on the cool side could even be 7-8 degrees lower.

Can I play dad?



here are a few pics I hope this one will post I have tried posting this like 5 times now. She is still not eating no crickets in a week. 2ml baby food a feeding if I'm lucky. How much should I be giving her at one time? How may crickets are given during a normal feeding? I have always been told what they will eat in 15min and that is about 100 a day getting fed 2 times a day well when she was eating. I have a male that eats like that too and he is not fat at least I don't think so I"m not sure what a over weight BD looks like. She is sleeping for about 16hrs a day I still leave her light on during the day to keep it warm in there. It is under 20F here now so her tank is not staying very warm which I'm trying to fix. At night I have been sticking feet warmers in her cave after she is wrapped up and it keeps her cave a nice 100F all night they only last abour 8 hrs so sense she has been sleeping so much I have been putting one in there during the day and it warms up to about 110F. I will keep updating

I thought they did not normaly sleep all winter if they were under a year? I have one sleeping and one awake I miss her but it is good because Chaos needed some more "training" or should I say "taming" he is no longer trying to eat me

How are things going today?
The tank set up looks fine to me. The tube UVB light, does that have a fixture that curves over the tube bulb slightly so it will direct the UVB downward more towards him. What is the distance from the UVB to him?
She is a little cutie pie though, thanks for posting the pictures.
Is she eating anything right now, or still just wanting to sleep? I would continue to keep her lights on right now, just in case she wants to bask. I think she will pick back up for you pretty soon. They do tend to slow down during this time.
The temperatures look good as well, so hopefully she will decide to stop sleeping so much.

Well no change she has stopped eating all together now . She has been sleeping for 3 days straight I have not messed with her put to peek in on her. But I'm going to be waking her up for a warm bath and some baby food this evening maybe she will snuggle a bit before she wants back in her tank. She would be more than happy to sleep in my bed for days. I did fall asleep with her a few days ago and went to put her back in her tank and she got really mad.

I hope the baby food feeding goes better she bit me Sunday while I was trying to get her to eat. It was not a bad bite she was just letting me know that she did not like it and I"m sure at her size she could easly draw blood if she wanted to.

I will post some new pics and get some new measurements of her this evening also.

Well, it does seem that she is trying to brumate on you a little bit.
At least she just gave you a warning bite. Oh yeah, they can hurt you if they really tried to. Sorry the baby food feedings aren't going more smoothly!
Keep a close eye on her weight, to make sure it is holding steady & she isn't losing any weight.
It sounds like she might be a little bit grouchy too.

Still not much change at all I have been waking her up every other day and giving her a bath and trying to get her to eat. No crickets in a few weeks a lil greens and a lil baby food. She is losing weight but I think my temps may have been off and I don't think her tank was getting warmer than 85 I have moved her tank around and after getting a new temp thing her tank was up to 108 last night and she seemed happier then I have seen her in a while (unless she is out of her tank) She loves to be out of her tank and to sleep on me. Gonna try some butter worms tonight she has never ate them before but something has got to give. I can't find anything but butterworms and meal worms and I know she can't have them.



What are some signs she is to skinny?? I have tried to find some pics of dragons that were overly skinny and I"m not having much luck which is great in a way but I would like to know what is to skinny. She looks great still all white belly most of the time.

So, she has no signs of stress right now? That is great.
Any luck with the butter worms then?
If her hip bones stick out or if her fat pads are not where they should be as well as her eyes being a little sunken in then she might be a little too thin. Do you monitor her weight?

She wont touch the butter worms so I'm going to have to order something because that is all I can find around here. She did it 4ml of baby food with extra calcium in it.

No I do not weigh her I wish I would have had a scale before this all started. She seems to be ok she is dark sometimes but she is for he most part white belly. She also has not pooed. So I'm not sure if that is ok sense she has not ate but I thought tere would be something. If she does not start to get better I will be taking her to the vet after the first of the year. Just to make sure that everything is ok.
