Not a normal appetite?

Hi there all,

Got my beardy a week ago now and shes only 9 weeks old. Everything ive read so far has said she should be eating like theres no tomorrow! But she just doesnt seem to have much of an appetite at all, maybe a dozen or so crickets a day.

Im guessing some of this could be down to her being in new surroundings and a little unsettled still, we've given her plenty of space and not handled her yet but still a little worried..... Is this typical behaviour for a new beardy, and will she get a bit more settled soon?

It sometimes takes a couple of weeks for them to adjust. Don't worry, I'm sure she'll be eating you out if house and home in no time!

Keep offering crickets and other insects like dubia roaches. Sometimes they get a little picky. At that age the beardie should be eating just around 40 a day. If that doesnt change in a week or so I would consult with vet.

Like MikesBeardies said, just keep offering till she stops eating. It takes some longer than others to adjust. Also, try not handling her for a couple of days to see if she eats more then. Mine, when he was really young, used to get all angry with me when I handled him and then tried to feed him. He still gets freaked out when the dog is in the room and I'm trying to feed him. :roll:
Just keep with it, I'm sure she's fine.
