Ninja bearded dragon?

Ok well today i did what i normally do, feed my little Mikey in the morning when i wake up and i check all my work/home e-mails. well i guess he decided to be adventurous.. and leap off my shoulder onto the floor (about a 5foot drop) and run behind my girlfriends computer desk! well little do u guys know how cluttered and horrific it is to try and look around or behind the desk.. so i freaked out calling him and what not. well not even 10 mins later of me looking for him does he run out up my leg and back on my shoulders

and that was just the 1st tale of the day!

So 3:30 rolls around and i go outside to pick up my little guy from the bus stop. We came inside and little did i know there was 2 crickets in his cage, and no Mikey. i looked ALL around the cage thinking he hid under paper towel or behind a rock.. and no mikey, and if it wasnt for my son being able to see the top of the cage i wouldnt have found him untill he dropped!! See I made this 2 layer thingy (like a fort) for mikey to climb on to get higher up in his cage towards his heat light. well sure enough he was planning on an excape this after noon that went sour! We found him again

hahah...

I'm still a little unsure how he jumped the the 4 or 5 inches to the top of the cage.. but we found him hiding under the UVB light where i could totally not see him from any point of view unless i was down on my hands and knees looking up..

I just wonder what kinda stuff will happen tomorrow? only time will tell i guess

Approximately how big is the mesh on the tank topper you're using? If it's big enough it won't affect how much UV is coming through. It's when you start getting the smaller meshes that it can affect the UV.

Yeah i usually cut a hole the size of the uvb bulb to make sure they are receiving enough UVB

umm its not overly big, i think it looks bigger then it actually is in that picture because i took it on an angle. its pretty thin wire mesh so i think its ok for now. ill be making my own vivarium and getting a different UVB in a month or so. i was told my repti glow 5.0 wasnt a good bulb. but he'll be fine for a month or so on it wont he? (i hope!) im looking into making my own viv and then buying a long 10.0 repti glow.

let me know if a month is ok or if i should look into getting one now!

I'm not entirely, 100% sure on this, but I think that the 5.0 is ok, whereas the 10.0 is the one that causes trouble.

It's the 10.0 COIL that presents problems. The 10.0 tubes are great. If you're building a new viv, you should look into getting an MVB instead.

Edited to add: The picture of him on the screen is great! Definitely one of my favorites on here. Check out the photo competition threads, maybe they're will be an acrobat theme one of these months!

Ha, this is the same thing my boy Chiz did a few months ago. I went to check on him and I looked all around his viv to find him... on the ceiling. :shock: I don't know how they do it. I got some pictures on my phone but the quality isn't great. -.-

He did the same thing about a week later, but he hasn't done it again since then. I think maybe he's gotten too fat. xD

Now that you mention it, the way his little hands are do remind me of Spidey. :lol: It's just like the Spider Pig thing but with beardies.
