I have been lurking for quite a while in prep for my husbands xmas gift. A friend of ours works for an amazing family owned pet store and helped me get everything and then we brought it home, set up and then went back the next day and picked out:

Just curious, is that red light from some outside source, or are you using that for his basking/heat source?

it was the heat light its exto tera "heat glo" infared heat lamp 100w for the basking spot.

Do you have a bright white light? Those colored bulbs can cause problems (i had a blue light when I fist got my dragon, and it was causing him to squint his eyes.) They really only need a bright white light and a uvb bulb(reptisun10.0 is a good idea). http://www.beardeddragon.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=95561 (here is an example)

That aside he/she is a cute little guy/girl. You just have to becareful with some of the set ups that petstores can provide (I bought a "bearded dragon all you need" kit, and got burned. Had to buy all new lighting, substrate..etc. Pretty much paid 180bucks for a 20gal long tank when it was all said and done with...)

Its not a "pet store" by any means. and I trust them more than anything, my best friend works there and has beardies. i have two lights
