Newbie from FL- First Post

Hi everyone!!
My name is Sally. I have been lurking here for the last two weeks. Trying to soak up all the information. I will be getting my first baby BD next week.
I have a 30 gallon tank, to start him off. Will be using paper towels for substrate. My UVB will be a Repti-Sun 10.0. I am still working on getting the temps correct with my basking light. :roll:
I have both digital probe, and infra red gun to check temps. 1/4" crickets are in their 10 gallon tank. Still doing some tweaking on the tank before his arrival. Will be doing grocery shopping for collard greens and squash this weekend. Really excited about getting this little guy. I will post a pic, once I figure out how to do it...LOL!!

Thanks Brandon! I cannot wait to get him on Tuesday. Finally have my basking light temps prrrrfect!! I am waiting on the hangers, so I will be able to hang the UVB fixture inside his cage. He was hatched 1/2/12. I figured that the 3/4" crickets that I have for my geckos will be too big. I had to quickly order some 1/4" ones. I have a flourishing Dubia colony going right now....so the baby roaches are ready. So much preparation!! :study:

I sure did. But how did you know? Actually went to Yellow Room Reptiles, and then it sent me to Rio's Reptiles. They have been sooooo helpful. His parents are Oasys and Flayr. I am in Panama City Beach. Where are you??

Well, Zuri is gorgeous. I am still learning the different types of BD. It looks like yours has some blue markings. Very awesome! I lived in Jacksonville for 19 years...loved it.
Only 5 more days until I will have Hugo!!!

Did you see her thread? I'm super happy with Zuri and Kovu, both amazing and getting better each shed. Kovu, since he is a tiger will burst into yellow with blue side bars, can't wait!
Congrats! He really is adorable! Rio's is amazing, great place to get a dragon! I may even get another in April possibly!

Hugo is gorgeous. I was thinking the same thing Katiekat was. I knew he was from Rio. I have 2 babies
from Rio as well. They just get more beautiful with each shed. I am excited for you! I'll be checking
back to see new pics next week.

Thanks for the welcome Kaleen and Amy!! I have eleven leopard geckos that are so sweet, but they sleep during the day. Hugo is going to be my "Day Buddy". I can already tell.
I am hoping that this one little dragon will not lead me to more little dragons...lol!! If they are like potato chips, then I may have to build an addition to my house.

Ok, I think I maybe ready. I have his UVB light 11" from floor of cage. Basking light temps are at 107. Substrate is paper towels. Tank is 30 x 12 x 18.
3 more days until Hugo arrives!!!!!!!!!!

Very nice It'll be nice for him while he is still little. I'd find a way to get the UVB closer to him, he shold be able to get about 6-8'' from it

Question on the UVB.... I am using a Repti-Sun 10.0 fluorscent bulb. I thought it was stronger, and the distance would be ok?? So much to learn.. :study:
