Aww look at those pictures, he's sooo cute! I love the name Gordo, he just might grow in to it. My male could definitely fit in to the name Gordo, he's a chubby little thing! Any how Gordo looks great, and lentils and peas are really good for uros so his choice for food is a good one. Maybe try feeding him a variety of mixed veggies, like carrots, peas, lima beans, and corn. Also if he's not interested in his leafy greens try hand feeding them to him, he may not know they're food. If he's still not interested try a different type of leafy green. My uros love love love the mixed spring greens and I mix it with mustard and collard greens. They absolutely love Kale too. The one thing you should not ever feed them is fruit or spinach leaves, I've heard those can make them sick.. Your set up for him looks awesome. The new hide was an excellent Idea too. I think you're doing a great job, and it probably just wasn't hot enough for him to get hungry, so fixing the temp will definitely help with his appetite. I can't wait to see some more pictures of Gordo! Oh and if little Gordo doesn't like your son picking up his cave off of him, your son will learn the hard way just like my fiance did to never do it again! Our Dougie got really mad at my fiance one afternoon when he pulled the cave up off him. He whipped him super hard with his tail, started hissing at him and tried to bite him!!! Once Dougie realized it was my fiance he did calm right down, but he was pretty startled at first.. It scared the heck out of me because Dougie is the sweetest boy ever, there's not an aggressive bone in his uro body, but you scare them or threaten their safety and it's a whole new game. That actually just happened recently and we've had him over a year. Our new female was in the cave with him, and he's super protective over her, so I'm pretty sure he was trying to keep her safe. They are the cutest little pair, I'll have to post some pics of them snuggling together. Daisy is our female, she's about a 1/3 of Dougies size, but he's so sweet and gentle with her. Most of the time when they're basking little Daisy will climb up on Dougie and lay on his back while he keeps an eye on the tank! It's sooo funny! When it's nap time he always makes sure she is in the cave first and then he goes in and snuggles her. When I put the food in, if some of the leafy greens are too big he shreds them up for her and then pushes her towards the smaller pieces! I got to get that on video one of these days!
