Thanks And yeah I researched for about 6 months before I got my Silk. I got most information from this site, it was very helpful. I wish more people would just take the time to do their homework before buying a beardie on impulse, then having it suffer. I see tons on craigslist that are not properly taken care of, and the owners have absolutely no idea the care requirements of beardies. It's all avoidable.

Nigini is awesome!!!! I don't have my nerve up yet for a silkie. I have still got to learn a lot before I tackle one myself. The other two are beautiful also.

Thanks. Yeah it's really not that much different than taking care of a regular beardie. The main thing is just the shedding. They shed like a leopard gecko. He has around an 1inch nip where a little piece of skin wouldn't come off, and it cut the circulation off. Then the last inch or so of his tail turned black and just fell off. But he's all healed now, and he hasn't had any problems since. I normally soak him twice a week, cause I noticed too many baths can dry their skin out. But when he's shedding I give him a bath everyday. Silks and translucent's are my favorites

Yea, they are beautiful. I have 7 normal scales and 2 leatherbacks now. My largest is a blood red leatherback male named Rivet who is almost 16 inches long. He was about 8 inches long when I got him. I'm looking for a couple red females to put with him in the near future. My next largest bearded is my other leatherback which is a citrus het white hypo female. I also have her clutchmate who is smaller and a normal scale. I want to find a nice colored citrus leatherback male or a white hypo het citrus male for them. That could produce my first silk baby unless I get a leather in one of the red females for rivet.
