New to the scene and have some questions

Hey everyone this is my first time posting on these forums and I had a few questions.

First off, all my close friends have beardies and over the weekend i've come to the conclusion that I would like my own personal dragon. I'm aware of the costs, how to feed, what to feed, etc. and currently have everything but the dragon.

All the local pet stores only have the black & white ones and those are also the only one's I have ever seen up until I did a lot more research (clearly not that much, but still ), I tried looking up local breeders but have been extremely unsuccessful so I decided to head on over here!

If anyone could give me more information to the specific one I would like, prices, any different behavior or what have you that would be awesome. I have heard they are kind of expensive (red ones that is) petsmart has the b&w ones for $60 and if i'm going to spend any money, it will be more for a totally different dragon...plus the name I have is pretty sweet.

If you want a dragon like that, you're probably going to have to go to a breeder. Breeders don't have to be local and can ship a dragon to you. And chances are, you're going to pay more than 60$ for a a qaulity and healthy dragon.

Yeah I figured around $150 or something in that range, hopefully cheaper but probably not. Is there a good website for breeders? a formal name for that particular dragon even?

U in us or Canada and you will be looking more like 200-250$ 150$ for dragon 60-100$ for shiping

Try maybe, Rainbowbeardeddragons.com, I know they have reds, daichu.com, Rio's Reptiles, is amazing, I have a citrus Red girl from her, very awesome breeder! I can't really name any that specificly breed red dragons though. If you wanna try faunaclassifieds.com you could, people have lots of morphs for sale.

I'm from America, and thank you katiekat, i'm checking out those websites but some are proving to be a little more difficult than others, google is also failing to an extent. Might just call around local pet stores to see if they know anyone.

My advice would be to be a little more patient and contact some of the breeders on this forum.

you can buy online like bloodbankdragons or as said wait for a breeder in the forums

Carolina Classic Dragons has some really cool looking dragons, but they are kind of expensive, but BloodBankDragons has alot of very cool also, but for a less price. :mrgreen:

If you're from around new jersey and don't mind driving look at dales bearded dragons. We got both our beardies from them, they're really great and extremely helpful if you're new to this.

I live in Georgia unfortunately, bloodbank dragons have a few that are in my price range, how recent is that website with its pictures/prices? I've taken the liberty of contacting the owners and asking but in the mean time if someone else could tell me that would be awesome.

Couple of site to try where breeders are listed. Kingsnake.com and Faunaclassifieds.com. Many top breeders listed at both places. Fauna also has a forum which has a good/bad listing. So you can check out breeders before buying. Good Luck on your search.
