New to the roaches...

Hi all! I am joinimg the "roach band wagon"... I am very new to the concept of giving my beardies these things; I NEED HELP! I am first going to start the colony (not sure what to really do-HELP). Second, once I get a big enough colony going, how many do I give my beardies? What size to give them? Can I start a 2-3 month dragon on roaches. Am I able to give dubia roachs to my frilled dragon? I would like a step by step guide on how to do all this...Thanks

I have videos on youtube (link in my sig) showing a typical B. dubia setup. My adult dragons would eat only 4-6 a day. Younger dragons will eat more cause there growing. General rule to size, is only feed, say roaches, no larger than the width of space between the dragons eyes. Example: If the space between the eyes is 1/2 inch, then you would choose roaches about a 1/2 inch in length. When your dragon becomes and adult, it will easily handle adult roaches. You can start any age dragon on roaches, feeding the appropriate size. Most lizards I have seen or heard about will eat B. dubia roaches. I have additional info on my website (sig below).

From my experience, it varies. My dragons used to eat anywhere from 4-10 a day plus there greens. Roaches are more filling then crickets. So he'll eat less if he was fed crickets before. As long as he is eating, he should be fine.

How old is a "young" dragon, and how big are the roaches he is eating?

I'm assuming he's around 3 months old and the roaches are smaller than the space between its eyes.
