Hello to all! You can call me Boo... or Rosie's Mom... We have just purchased a beautiful bearded dragon a week ago last Friday (so we've had her ten days now.)
My daughter has lovingly named her Rosie... though I would've given her the so not original name I'm sure of Lizzie.
Rosie is three months old, I'm told by the pet shop. She loves her crickets and she seems to love being petted... mostly held and petted but doesn't like the initial sensation of being lifted up. I hope that she will soon like being petted so much that she'll crawl onto our hands... that way we can put our hands inside and if she wants lovin' she'll climb on and if she's not in the mood, she can choose to avoid us... is this too high of an expectation?
She really seems to like Romain lettuce... but I've learned today (from this helpful site) that I shouldn't feed her any lettuce at all... so We'll have to go grocery shopping for her after work today.
N E Way... I'm glad I've found this community. I need to learn all that I can to keep my dragon happy and healthy - I am completely new to this. The people at the pet shop are extremely helpful... but keeping a dragon at a petshop is one thing... loving one as a pet has got to be completely another... I want help, tips, etc from my fellow dragon owners.
So that's us in a nutshell. Hope to "meet" everyone soon!
