new to breeding

my question is how many hours do u cut down to when they are ready for brumation because i am trying to do this right sinc eits my first time breeding but first gotta mae sure they brumate, how many hours a day shoudl they get...? thank you

Hi Paul,
Burmation can last days to several weeks. I never force My breeders down. I just let them go down when they want to. Breeding can become a huge project very fast, 1 successful breeding can produce 40 to 100 babys. I did years of research before I made my 1st attempt.

I agree, you never want to force them into it! They will tell you when they are ready! If you do you could have problems later on when trying to breed them! Good luck...

yea but my females ar enice and fat and havent eatin for abotu 2 weeks they are about 2 years old and form time to time they come out to bask and my males do the same and when he comes out he head bobs to the girls and then the girls glass dance.... so i reallly am asking onc ein brumation what are the hours of lighting u give them and also can u house multiple females in one huge tank? thanks

thanks for the info and help Tom so after all this sleeping and not eating for the past 5 weeks i decided ot turn up the temp. hours and put the female in witht he male and they went at it and mated awesome IM SO EXCITED
