New owner.....is he sick?

I'm new to this forum and bearded dragons. A couple of days ago I purchased a juvenile beardie. Named him tiger. Well. I think I had over fed him, and fed too large of bugs. He didn't poop for a day and it concerned me so I gave him a warm bath and tried to feed him smashed pumpkin mixed with vegetable oil and he pooped. And he pooped again this morning. But he will not eat and is acting kind of sluggish. I haven't been able to get him to eat his veggies yet and I've tried a lot of different ones. And tried different ways of feeding them. Any ideas? And honestly I'm just trying to get him to eat anything at this point

He may just be getting over an upset tummy, so let him take his time and offer smaller bugs. And can you list the exact type + brand of lights you're using ?

He's about 6 inches in length and he ate a lot of small crickets to start. Then he ate one that was about an inch and a half long. And to top it off he ate 3 wax worms.

I'm using a 50 watt basking light I bought from petco. Dont remember the brand..the uvb bulb is the 10.0 reptisun compact. And. For at night I use a ceramic heater. His tank temp is around 105, 110 as a high and 85 as a low. Doesn't go above or below those

The large cricket would be the problem, you're fortunate that he isn't impacted from such a large prey item. A baby can swallow but can't easily digest large ones, and it presses on their spine and can cause paralysis of the hind legs. Waxworms are not great either, beardies get spoiled on them and then refuse other insects.

Your heat is fine, but the better uvb bulb would be the Reptisun long tube. The coil + compact don't provide a large area of uvb.

He's in a 10 gal tank right now so I figured that light would b okay since it doesn't need much space to cover. Also. He keeps closing his eyes. Is it because of the lighting?

On the right side I've got the 10.0 reptisun compact. The middle is a ceramic heater for nights, and the right side is his Basking light which is the zoo med 50 watt basking bulb

He's so tiny and cute. Anyway, your basking bulb should be on the same side as the uvb bulb so he can get enough heat while he's on his basking perch and get uvb at the same time.

He keeps closing his eyes during the days. Its like he keeps going to sleep. Almost like he wants to nap. Is this normal?

Hi. You definitely need a better uvb light. It definitely sounds like the coil/compact is really bothering his eyes. Also a 10 gallon is really way to small to get the proper temps and lights needed to have a healthy environment he needs to grow. I believe petco is having their tank sale. $1per gallon. I bought my 40 gallon breeder for $40. Its a good deal.

He is probably dehydrated too. Use an eyedropper or spray bottle to very gently drip water on his snout for a drink, it can be done every day.
