Hi, I'm etanainen, 31 and from Finland!
I don't have any lizards yet, though I adore them and want to study them as much as possible before getting my first. I dream of owning many different lizards one day, and a Beardie seems like a good one to begin the lizard keeping hobby with. I don't really have plans about when to buy one yet, I only know it'll be when I have done lots of more studying and have a good home tank all set up, complete with the right kind of UVB lights and all.
I keep a lot of Giant African Land Snails (and am a mod on a snail forum, actually) so I know some things about terrarium pets, though it's fascinating how some things seem similar and some the exact opposite, for example the cleaning routines. I was also wondering if I could somehow use my snails' eggs as treats to the Beardie, as they're naturally high in protein and calcium. My snails lay lots and lots of eggs, and some I can feed back to the snails, but there's a great surplus that I wish I could use. I will continue studying up so there's no pressure for anyone to comment on the snail eggs now - all kinds of weird little creatures make my heart flutter so much that I won't subject them to ANYthing before I'm sure it's ok.
Off I am to use the Search feature! I hope to be a contributing member here one day and not just one who asks questions.
Regards,
etanainen
