I don't think sawdust would bother them in small amounts and they don't seem to care about noise. I'm always vacuuming around mine and he just looks at me like I'm a dork. Even in my house I leave the fronts off the enclosures when I'm home and they just peek out when they're hungry or jump out do do their business on my floor. Only time I would take them away is when you are using chemicals or solvents, even then, we don't want to be there. If he is only going to be out there when you're working, it doesn't have to be much of an enclosure. It could almost be a platform or an open box. Or make it where you cover the front or close the door when it's time to use the saw. Or make him some little eye protection glasses and a little dust mask. Sorry, had to say it, funny picture just popped into my head.
