Hey guys, had beardies once as a small kid. My much older brother and parents took care of it, I never really handled, but watched and was in love with them! They died more than a decade ago, but I digress. I went with my girlfriend and her family to Repticon this last weekend(Her father is a herp, and breeds turtles/tortoises. They also have snakes, lizards, etc.) I basically tagged along, but being I'm 18 now I saw all the beardies at diferent stands ( Hundreds upon hundreds of babies. ) I looked all over and talked to a ton of diferent breeders, I was deciding between geckos, uros, monitors, and these guys. But I loved beardies before and decided since they were pretty easy compared to the other types, and well domesticated I'd try my hand at them. I looked all over, must have been to all the different booths 3 or 4 times each. I had never seen any color morph beardies.. My past beardies had been from petsmart, they werent healthy, were rather dull looking and lazy. Not these guys! I saw a citrus morph, that apparently weighed 500 grams, she was huge and brighter yellow than a highlighter, it was insane! I also saw a ton of dark reds, and different hypo and snow mixes. But eventually her dad helped me pick out a healthy looking pair, he suggested I get a male and female if I decide to breed. Which I think id love to. Although id probably get another beardie closer to Sally's Genetics. But anyways, We get to the booth, and I picked out a Plain/Sandfire Male.. He was really energetic, and had a fat little belly and pudgy arms, so I figured he was healthy. Then I picked out a female Hypo Citrus Translucent. She was kind of dull at the event, as she was stressed and was begining a shed all over her body. Since shes gotten a couple baths, some mistings, and has finished her shed (Which I believe to be her 2nd. Shes maybe 6.5-8 in.) Shes beautiful! Shes highlighter yellow, with orange and silver sidebars. Clear nails, and very energetic. They both love baths, and are really curious, they like exploring my room A LOT. They both also have massive apetites, They put down a ton of crickets, and salad. And use the bathroom really regularly. Extremely pleased, noticing the difference between petsmart pellet fed and breeder raised dragons. They cling to my hand when I put them back in there vivs, and run to the edge to see me when I walk in the room. Great personality, they get along great, no nips or fighter. Actually, they both arm-wave to eachother, at the same time. It's pretty funny. My girlfriends dad built me a custom cover for there viv, to mount lamps and hold supplies on. Gave me the viv, dust, lamps, lights, everything I'd need. Extremely grateful for that, and I'm in love with these little guys. I wish it was warmer or I'd take them out to play.

And here's the kicker. I got them both, with a 30 day return warranty, and medical insurance on them for 14 days. Recent fecals already done. Grand total of only 120$. Truly awesome. So without further ado, here you have -

I plan on moving them to seperate vivs once they both mature a bit.I've been assured they're okay at this age. About 6 or 7 weeks, and 7 or 8 weeks. I'm kind of obsessed now, I really hope to breed them(Not for monetary, or large scale. Just a single couple if anything.) I'd love a couple more, if I'd be so lucky to get healthy ones like these guys. People are giving away beardies and vivs all over my area on craigslist, anyone have experience with this?

Thanks guys! :D Ill make sure to make another thread in 3 or 4 weeks to show you all how they're growing, which is inevitable. Because they eat like fat kids!

They are so awesome. Sally reminds me of my female Tazz a couple weeks ago.
Tazz has since gone through a shed and has even more color. Have fun with them!

They're both adorable!
As for people giving them away on craigslist, they don't do so much of that here. Usually they want $150 or more for them and their setups, which are usually just the basics. I did get my girl from a college kid a few months ago, way underfed and a bit on the small side, but I still gave him $50 for her and her (very small) set up. It was worth it to me to give that just to give the girl a chance :)

Congrats on your babies!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
