Hi guys,
I'm new on this forum and am a new beardie owner for about 4 days now. I previously worked at a pet shop and took care of many reptiles, so I do have quite a bit of knowledge on reptile care, but have never had my own beardie.
For the few days we have had her, I have been making little adjustments to her enclosure and lighting trying to make sure that it is the perfect home. She is about 6.5 inches and I have her in a 20 gallon long for now, looking to upgrade when she gets about 10 inches. I have a 100 watt basking bulb on the hot side, and a Zilla UVB 50 desert series (I know that many believe these are poor quality, but this was a problem back in '08- which was eventually fixed and this brand is now safe to use). Anyway, she seems happy, healthy, active, and alert.
My concern is that she doesn't seem to be eating like she should. We are able to feed her about 5 crickets (1/2 inch) 3 times daily. I know that they are supposed to be eating much more than this as juveniles, and am getting concerned as to why she isn't eatinmg like she should. She picks at her vegetables occasionally, and probably eats a max of 15-20 of these crickets a day.
Should I be worried? Should I make any changes? I'd really appreciate some advice from you guys!
