Well today I changed his substrate from Alfalfa pellets to reptile carpet. I change his bedding, put everything back in and he seems fine. Then after I change his bedding I throw in a dozen large crickets. He eats about 8 and the rest are just running around. I decide to take the crickets out cause they started chirping and annoying the crap out of me *can't wait for those Phoenix worms to get here!* Well after I do that he starts to bask and when he does he just stood there and puffed his beard wayyyyyy out there. Is he just relaxing, stressed or just showing his dominance?

How old is he ? I just recently moved an adolescent into his forever viv, and he did the same darned thing to me! I laughed so hard, cause he looked so "fierce" !

Umm I'd say he's almost a year, if not a year. He's about 12 inches. He should be longer but part of his tail got bitten off when he was little.

my 2 year old juju does that sometimes (not often), and I've never really worried about it. Sometimes he'll even do it in the morning when he wakes up, and I laugh and say he woke up on the wrong side of the viv lol. If your beardie is acting fine otherwise, and doesn't act lathargic or have any signs of sickness, I wouldn't worry, but hey there's better experience people than me.
