Hi everyone,
It's been a long time since I have visited this site as I have been involved in a local campaign to save our park, which has well and truly taken over my life. I just wanted to share a little story to tell you that however bad it may be with your beardie, hang on in there, and never give up hope.
A year ago, my baby Georgie stopped eating and became really ill. The vets couldn't get to the bottom of it until an exploratory operation showed that she had chronic liver disease, at the time she was only one year old. It was thought that the disease was genetic. After loads of treatment and medication, she still wasn't responding, so in January, I decided to stop the medication and just carry on caring for her and syringe feeding her daily. In this time, I still offered her live food, but she just turned her nose up. A week ago, I put a bowl of meal worms in her tank and she attacked them! She ate them as if she had never seen food before! Since then she has gone from strength to strength, devouring all food in her sight! I must say, it is truly a miracle as that little girl has not eaten voluntarily for 13 months.
So, never give up, your baby may just surprise you one day!

Hello,

That is excellent news to hear that Georgie finally ate after this long! Wow you must have been really surprised when that happened. It sounds like she is feeling a lot better. Have you had her on any supplements to help her liver during the year?

Hi Tracie,
I hope you are well. Sorry I have neglected everyone, but I have become quite a community activist lately. This is our fight www.savekemp.com , us little guys against a big, bad, utility company.
To tell you the truth Tracie, I just stopped everything. She was so unhappy with all the prodding and pulling about. I just fed her a on small amounts of baby food and critical care. Over the last few weeks, I noticed she was a lot more active and brighter and then last week 'bang', she just started eating and seems back to her old self, good colours and a pleasure to watch hunting down those tasty crickets. She is pooping well too. She doesn't want cuddles anymore though, she would rather run off exploring!
I can't tell you how shocked and happy I am after all this time. It is truly a miracle!

I am happy to report that she is still doing well. She is eating me out of house and home! This naughty little girl has never eaten her salad, but she is even chomping on that now!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
