Need help with lid please!

so im from canada n i cant seem to find a single tank wider then 12" so my husband n i decided we are going to use the beautifuldragons site to make a tank out of glass n silicone sealant. now we cannot think of anyway to make a lid. any ideas? it will need to be able to with stand heat. i will be putting 3 dome lights on top. my uvb,one for heat and a heat emitter for at night. and i want to make sure crickets cant get out.

Screen top with a wooden frame to keep it tight, maybe? You could always order a cover online.

you could do something similar to what i did. and inside of mouthing the lights inside like i did you can just cut holes out for the fixtures and put some wire mesh on the holes for the fixtures to sit on.

our bearded has a closet shelf from a local home improvement store. It's the type that is metal coated white in a screen like fashion. Bolt cutters to cut away extra and file down cut edges. Easy lid with excellent ventilation. Good luck on the tank!
