Hey guys! So the North American Reptile Breeders Conference stopped in Chicago this weekend. I went there in hopes of finding a new tank, well glasscages.com was there and had a deal I couldn't pass up on.
I got a 135gal 72 x 18 x 25 tank for 180, then another 80 for the screen.
I have a few questions regarding a tank this size, I assume I can still get by with having one basking spot, even though it is six feet long, I already have a CHE if necessary for the other side. The biggest question I have is I have a 36" UVB fixture/bulb, will that work if I put it in the middle, or closer to the basking spot considering Lenny's spends most of his time there? Or do I need to invest in another uvb structure so the whole length of the tank is cover.
My next question, I don't remember exactly the length Lenny can be from the UVB, since this tank is much taller, from what I recall it is 8-12 inches away?
Thats all for now but I know I have more questions brewing, please post any suggestions or ideas for how to set this tank up lol, I am still tossing ideas around. So far I know I am sticking with tile like the original tank, I might do the background with those premade course backgrounds you can stick to the glass, instead of using the paper like backgrounds. Glasscages had some but I didn't have enough to buy all that as well. I am not too sure, I was thinking about going to a near landscaping place, see what kind of rocks/boulders I can find.
my original plan was just a 4 foot tank, but I guess the 6 foot caught my eye.
