We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy

The jumping really scares me too. They are really really dumb dumb heads when it comes to falling. Pogo thinks she is Superman and will jump off anything.

That's a shame about Ming's passing. The last time I spoke to her, she said he had really slowed down in his eating & activity level. 16 yrs is certainly a great age, she should be proud.

Thos pictures are adorable. Can't believe Safara is a yr old already. She's so cute. And Leo has certainly grown and already 2 yrs.

So great that Leo is walking around again. :D Good for him. Guess Gabriel wanted to have an adventure and check things out, he's too funny. NEVER a dull moment for you, such entertainment.

It's healing but a slow process. Next appt with the surgeon is Nov 3, hopefully will get the physio schedule and when I can put my foot down. For now it's exercises twice a day, take the boot off for that and I can shower! Bonus! It's also great that I can drive, so I'm still independent.

Yes jumping is their favourite thing. Mine like to jump off the 4' counter in the kitchen, onto tile  Then take off before I figure it out. They really are nuts!

Hi Diane, missed your post! Yes, Ming would have been 16 years old in December, what a great age that is for a beardie. It's still a shock but yes, she should be proud that he lived that long!

No, there's never a dull moment here, though it has become much quieter. Gabriel is sleeping most of the day now & even Castiel was in his hide this am. When I took Leo to the vet today, I forgot to put the barrier up but Castiel was back in his favourite place, behind the sofa, so was easy to find.

Leo had a good vet visit and was sort of good about the blood test, she was successful in getting a good sample. She also took some fluid out of his body but it was the right colour, so doesn't seem to be any more leaking of blood vessels. I'll have the results next week, so hoping his protein level is normal again so I don't have to worry about him. He sure has gained weight, though, he's up to 590g. But I'm not worrying any more about his weight anymore. I'll feed him 4 roaches every 2 days and collard greens in between. Hopefully that will keep his weight as it is. He goes back to the vet in February, as I have no more $ to spend on vet visits until then.

So I did get a few pictures, right after I got this pic of Gabriel, he fell asleep again. He can't stand being covered up, so I just let him sleep.

Castiel does only 1 sexy leg at a time LOL

He wasn't very impressed with me taking his picture anyway, not long after he was in his hide

and I got a picture of Bunny sleeping, this is how she sleeps every day, behind her leaves, yet she never seems to be bothered that the sunshine hits her tank in the winter for awhile. Cutie!

Thanks for sharing the pics of your babies, Deb. Their personalities are soo funny sometimes. Last weekend, Lil Squirt was on her dad's shoulder and I had Rosie on my shoulder. Guess who wasn't happy that Rosie was on me and she wasn't? But then, She was on her dad's shoulder and Rosie wasn't.

They like to have their humans all to themselves. Castiel gets very put out when I have Leo on my lap & he's on the ramp, if I switch them around, Castiel is still put out that Leo's on the ramp. He gets very put out when Gabriel is up, too. He's so funny

Lori, your tale of how Lil Squirt not being happy with Rosie sitting on your shoulder reminded me of almost the same scenario with Oscar and Felix.

Oscar was a very independent beardie and never cared about snuggles, while Felix was the complete opposite. One day, donkey butt (you remember who that is) decided to sit on the couch with Felix in his lap. No sooner had they both sat down that Oscar came flying across the couch from the other end and chased Felix off. For some reason, that Oscar decided that day that no one but him was going to sit in donkey butt's lap.

They all have their own opinions about when, where, who, and how

Gina, that is a hilarious story, thanks for the laugh!

And I agree, they are the ones who decide, not us.

Thanks Diane, hoping to hear good news from the blood sample on Leo.
Gabriel is very tired but can't decide if he wants to be up & keeping tabs on me or sleeping  Silly boy, but then again, he had my whole attention today & even got to nap with me this afternoon.

Thanks for that tale, Gina. It seems we all liked it. :laughhard: :laughhard: i read it to my other half. I ended up with both girls on me at the same time. They both nap with my other half every day when he naps, except for the weekends when I usually get Rosie and he gets Lil Squirt. They both love snuggles and Rosie seems a lot more affectionate than she was about 3 years ago.

So Gabriel is now officially the best beardie jumper in the world. When I sit on the lazy boy, I stretch my let on the knee walker. This is usually snuggle Gabriel time. Well he likes that boot I have on my leg, so he climbs down from the snuggle position, crosses my leg and the boot, hops onto the cushion on the leg walker, the bigger one in the back that fits his belly perfectly. Takes position, eyes what he wants to jump onto (the sofa) and hurtles himself into the air. Voila, perfect landing & goes on his way  He has it down to an art now, so I'm going to have to keep my camera with me & if he does it again I'll video it. It's just hilarious to watch him!

All my kids up for baths today. Fed Nathaniel a bit, they're all getting outside time until I leave for the big get together today at my sister's. Going to be a great big party, yeah!

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
