We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

So here are a few pics, he's a yellow & dark gray, light gray colour.

Under the communal power sun in the living room:

Discovering there are girls in those tanks up above, he has a great black beard for such a skinny boy:

On the couch, he's got a pretty diamond pattern on his back:

Hope you enjoy
Deb and my six dragons :D      :( :love5:

Deb,

I'm so excited for you and Castiel. I've been watching the tracking all day (at work ) I was getting very nervous when it hit 10 am and he was still out for delivery . I was shaking yesterday as I dropped him off at the FedEx office. It felt weird putting a baby in a sealed box (with air holes of course ) and trusting him to the employees at the ship center. But I watched the young man very gently handle the box and that made me feel better :D. Now to get him home tomorrow 8)

I do have some photos of him on the facebook page from when he was smaller (He's number 10 on the individual listings) and he's also in the group shot with 4 other babies (he's the one on the bottom of the pile to the left, the larger of the babies :)).

OMG I can't believe it, I just measured Nathaniel and he's now 18" long. So he's grown 3" since I got him Dec 7. He's almost the size of a full-grown dragon :blob5: :blob8: :blob5: :D :D :D I'm so happy that he's not the little squirt I first brought home. I'm so proud of him. He also just spent 1 1/2 hrs outside in the sun. He reminds me so much of Lonzo, he was my sun dragon, too. The others might last 1/2 hr at the most, but if I hadn't brought him in, he'd still be out there. He just loves it :D

Hi Sabrina, I'll check the website later, for sure!

I just checked and he's still in New York, not sure when he starts his trip to Toronto, but I'm leaving soon for work, so won't be able to check until tonight.

I don't think I'll be sleeping much tonight!

Thank you so much for taking him to the beginning of his journey, I'll be so anxious to get him out of that box and home tomorrow. Hopefully my appt won't take very long with the lung specialist, I want to be out of there by 1p latest & be on my way to pick up Castiel. I'm supposed to get a call tomorrow am that he's arrived, I don't leave for my appointment until 10:30a, so hope to get the call before I leave. I already have the tracking # in my purse!

New tracking # 773803589910 for Canada. I talked to Sam this afternoon, he'd just repacked him ready for pickup. He said "Boy is he ever BIG" and I said "that's why he's in the bigger box, Sabrina wasn't kidding  ". So he'll be here at 9a, I'm cancelling my appt tomorrow (due to an emergency) as I can't leave him to wait another 4 hours for me to pick him up, as soon as I get the call in the am I'm on my way. Even if I have to pay for the appt, too bad.

We're having a heat wave over here and good thing I'm cancelling, I hardly slept, my tummy is upset and my allergies are out of control. So I checked & he's at the facility, just not ready for pick up, that won't be for a couple of hours yet. So even if I wanted to keep that appt, I've been assured that he'll sleep until I pick him up, I don't feel well enough, so will re-schedule anyway.

I'll be called in a couple of hours, so have time to nap some more.

Yay, not long now, how exciting :blob5: I had to Google map Westminster because I couldn't remember what time zone you were in. Looks like Pacific, so still a couple hours to go yet? On the Sphynx forums we'd call this a "gotcha day", so happy gotcha day! Looking forward to pics once he's nice and settled!

Yes, Jen, I'm on Pacific time, live north of Seattle, in New Westminster, BC, Canada. Most south west point of BC, just above WA State. We're only an hour from Bellingham, WA.

It won't be long now, just an hour and I should get the call. I'm just cleaning out his tank. He'll like it, I'm sure. Cierra is on the ramp, Nathaniel is in the sun (I think he'd live out there, if he was allowed  ).

I'm anxious to see he's arrived to you. I know what you mean about Nathaniel preferring to live in the sun. Our girls love being outside, tho they can't stay outside all the time because we have things to do that require us to be inside and because of Roadrunners and hawks, we won't leave them outside by themselves. I have them on my shoulder now A lot of the time when they get woken up really good they will get really active and try to crawl off me to get outside. That's their way of informing me they want outside.

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
