Nathaniel, Cierra, Castiel, Freya, Grrl; RIP GABRIEL

We never expected to get another dragon, but our neighbours next door wanted to give away Cleo, as he was called. We'd babysat him before, he's such a sweetheart. We nicknamed him Velcro because when he snuggles he never wants to go back to his viv, he hangs on as if he's made out of velcro.

So here he is. Today was his first day with us. He ate 13 supers and ate some squash, not bad for the first day he was here. He's only in a 30 gallon tank, which will be ok for now. He's 18" long but weighs only 200g. We figure he's probably 2 yrs old. Our neighbours rescued him last fall, they found him and a female (which they named Puff) on Craig's list. They were in a 30 gallon dirty tank, with sand and a huge log that took up 1/2 the space in the tank. Leo was at the bottom, he was sooooo skinny. He's gained weight, but never got the attention he deserved. I took some pics today, but will take more tomorrow. I think he remembers our place as didn't get stressed as I expected. No stress marks at all. When we let him run around the living room, he noticed our girls and immediate black beard, so his hormones are working!

He had a bath this morning, had a big poop, no smell, so not worried about parasites.

Hi Sabrina, I posted that pic of Lonzo on your thread, too. Harry's almost there, but I've never seen a male black beard down his arms & to his knees :lol: None of my others can get that black either. Lonzo has always been that way, so glad he's still able to do that, even if he is an old man :lol:

I'll know more about Rubio by Thursday, he's not moving around much yet, he's got his head on his pillow. I moved his UVB to above his bed so he stays warm all day. Gave him all his supplements, he LOVES Serrepeptase & always feels better after getting it. I'm glad I'm home to take care of him & Didi. Want them both 100% asap.

I love the pictures of your crew. OMGosh Lonzo can black beard, I have never seen a beardie black like that to his knees. Puff sure is a cutie and love the picture of her on sweeties pillow. It was hard for me to give Emmett Giecos pillow, blankie and hammock but hes got them. Rubio looks like hes feeling a bit better and that is good that he moved to his pillow. I am sure with a little more time the tenderness will subside. I hope Didi heals up quickly with the mouth issue. You sure have your hands full. I am sorry to hear you are still having problems with Eric and Tara over your grandson. Leo needs his gramma. Glad you got to see the video of him crawling and hope you get to see him soon. I am full of hope today, hope you are feeling better yourself and are getting some rest. You deserve and need it. Take care of yourself so you can take care of those babies of yours.

Hi Tonja, isn't that a magnificent black beard/body? I've never seen another beardie do that & Lonzo is 11, when I first got him, he was 5 yrs old & the black beard was even darker :lol: Rubio seems to be improving very slowly, but he gets his 3rd shot tomorrow, then another on Wed & then vet visit on Thursday to see if he needs more shots. He's taking his supplements and loves the carnivore care with different baby foods. The last few days I mixed it with butternut squash, today with chicken w/veggie & when that's done it will be pears with veggies. So lots of good things. He loves the Serrepeptase, takes that down after the med has been in his body for a few hours, then the rest later in the day. Glad I'm off this week, I'll find out tomorrow if I'm allowed to go back on short-term. I hope so. Will let you know.

Puff is in the same sleeping position tonight, on her pillow but will her head on her driftwood, funny position to sleep In, but she likes it!

I'll keep you all updated on Rubio. Didi is going to be fine, just a bit more of that abcess to clean up.

I also tried to watch the video of your grandson, Leo, crawling but was unable to. I think you are right that only her 'friends' are able to see the video.

I am glad to hear that Rubio is feeling better, I know it will be a slow healing but, hopefully, he will get better soon.

I will let you know about the short term, will call my manager this afternoon when I get back from the eye doctor. Off to give Rubio & Didi their shots, then feed Rubio. Hope he's improved a lot by Thursday when we got to the vet.

I am still praying for Rubio. Hopefully he is steadily showing improvement. I hope the pain is subsiding for him at least a bit. How is Didi doing? I hope the abcess is clearing up for him. Now off to feed my two breakfast.

They're both doing fine. Rubio is still not moving much but he sure likes the Serrepeptase. Now to wait for the order I sent last week as I'm running out. Will check with Tracie.

I saw the eye doc this am & may have to have surgery again on the tear duct in the left eye. It was damaged in the motorcycle accident I was in when I was 18. So had the surgery & it was fine until recently. Have to see the specialist in Sept, will find out then. Until then I have a leaky tear duct again. Oh well...Go the xray done on my right shoulder, too, and see my doc next Tuesday. Waiting to hear from my manager if I can take short-term again. If not I'll have to get back to work next week & do the best I can, maybe go on part-time, not working Wed, when my vacation time runs out, until then I'll take Wed mornings off. That seems to help.

I can't wait until my ankle surgery is done so I can get back to normal!

I am praying you get your short term. Surgery on that ankle should make a world of difference. It did with my knee but the recovery and physical therapy take the longest to get the range of motion back. Is there anything at all they can do for your shoulder? Sorry to hear about your leaky tear duct, bless your heart, you have been through it. Hope things will keep looking up for you and your crew. My prayers are with you hun.

Thanks Tonja, my manager is going to get back to me, as if they want to continue the previous claim, then I have to go back to work, as it would be unpaid leave & I can't afford that. If I have to go back to work, I'll continue with 1/2 days on Wednesday, but eventually will have to go to 4 days a week, as I can't manage 5 at all. My manager's aware of all that's happening to me and is really pushing the short-term for me. She's a wonderful woman and I'm grateful she's my manager. At least I can be honest with her...

Rubio isn't getting better, so he's going to the vet tomorrow at 10:15. When I try to feed him the carnivore care & baby food mixture, it brings on bad spasms & they should be less by now. I have a feeling we're going to be getting the biopsy done tomorrow, hope it's not too late for him. He's developing something in his mouth, too, not sure what it is. He's also starting shed all over, but his shed are always a pinkish grey, the black on his tummy isn't shed. So please pray for him, I just can't lose him & have no idea where this infection came from either. There are never bugs in his tank, so it's not a bite and we really don't have bugs from outside come in, either, other than the occasional fly.

I'll update tomorrow when I get back. I have a dentist apt at 2p, so have to leave by 1p but will have time when I get home from the vet to update. This year is definitely not turning into a good year at all, every time I turn around there's something else wrong!

Oh Deb, I'm so sorry to hear that he's having spasms when he's eating now. Poor guy. So now he has something started in his mouth? Thoughts & prayers for both of you. Sure hope something can be discovered so that he can start getting better.

Sorry to hear about your tear duct, hope you don't need surgery for that. All these appointments must be wearing you out not to mention the stress of everything.
