so my girl has been taking naps lately, like around 6.00 pm, she will go to sleep on her tree, i csn pick her up and she will fall back to sleep on my shoulder/her special pillow/ bed, my boy seems fine, the temps are fine. at tnight they have a 65 watt CHE cause my room gets cold, there bed time is usally 10:00 pm to 9:00 am or if i get up early for moring rituals i turn it on at 8, i figured this was enough nght time. i use to feed them worms around 6 for a evening meal, but she has been missing out on that, i've been doing this for 6 months, since i got them, am i doing it wrong

oh, i forgot to put that in there, she is 7 months, i figured that was a little early to start

I'd try to not feed them after 5, just so they have proper time to digest. I leave fresh food in Sagura's cage until 5 and then take it out. Maybe try putting her to bed earlier too? I was doing about the same timing schedule as you have but the vet said I should lower the amount of time she has in light, so I put her to bed at 7 or 8 and wake her up at about 9 or 10. She doesn't like to get up before 9 anyway unless there is something really important, like crickets.

Ok thanks. I thought it could of been the light I bought for her cause the other one burned out. I thought it might have been to bright. I also was wondering i was clipping her nails and I had swung my hair in her eye when someone was talking to me. could this also be the reason? I have never had this happen before and I'm really worried.

Hello!

There have been some beardies in rare cases that brumate this early. But you are right, it's not likely. Are you ready to be bombarded with questions?

What brand of UVB are you using?
Is it a coil/compact/flourescent etc.?
What are your temps on the warm and cool side?
What is your humidity?
Has your beardie had a fecal lately?
What do you feed her fruits/veggies?
What do you feed her meat wise?
Do you gutload your insects/worms?
Do you put calcium powder on her food? What kind?

Hope everything is okay! Just in case she has a reason to sleep other than being a little lazy, please answer the Q's and I will get back ASAP! I'm sure our other memebers will beat me there.

im using 100 watt t-rex megaray
not coil-bulb MVB
war is 92-95
cool is mid 70's/ basking is 105-107
humidity is 40%/might be high but my house is way humid, my snakes get body long perfect sheds all the time,
about 6 months, the person i got her from wasn't the best mommy, so she had a eating problem, and will probely never see full size.
veggies, is all greens, acorn-butternut-summer squash and some kale. fruit is rarely, bananna-orange, she doesn't like orange now, rasberry and a occasional oddity from the beautifuldragon page, once in great while she gets and like beardie "man-made" food.

meats, guess ya mean bugs. crickets-gutloaded-superworms, an ocasional waxworm-havn't had a chance to feed silk worms yet. starting roaches this summer, still a heated situation with my mom "the word ROACH" is a trigger for war
she get reptical-W/O d3 since i have MVB 5 times a week off on weekends, once per feeding, using herptavite vitamins, 3 times a week, the get baths 3 times a week, my boy gets more cause he thinks he's aqua dragon, also there in a 40 breeder

i ment its a t-rex, not a megaray, i thought that what t-rex calls there bulbs
also i keep my bubl 9 inches instead of 12, cause at 12 she the temps are wrong, the previous lamp, the solor-glo was at the same distance and it seemed not to bother her, i was thinking vet, but i doubt they will know, cause this seems odd to me, if its bruination, dont they sleep alot instead off, nodding off then opening eyes every couple minutes, plus when i take her out she opens her eyes, to see if she is falling or if im situating her on my shoulder she opens them and sees its fine and close them again

With a 100 watt T-Rex, it's really VERY important that the bulb is a MINIMUM of 12" from the beardie not from the basking spot. At a distance of only 9" away, it is putting out too strong ultra violet rays which can cause eye problems as well as other health issues. Those bulbs also throw off a lot of heat. What type of thermometer are you using to check the temps?

It is typical for them to be more docile this time of year even at only 7 months but it does sound like she is being affected by the bulb being too close. Did you burn the bulb in for a couple of days before placing it on her tank? Is she housed alone in the 40 gallon breeder?

I would also suggest you feed other greens besides just the kale as that can bind the calcium. Have you tried escarole, endive, collards, mustard or turnip greens? I would also stay away from any type of citrus as the acid can be rough on their stomachs and high in Vit A & C.

Please keep us updated on her.

I know for sure it's the light. I went to turn the lights on she was on the other side of the tank layingon her log with her eyes open, so I wait a few mintues to turn the light on to see if it was the case. And when I turned the light on she closed her eyes and would not open them until I moved the light away. But after a while she started to close them again. But If she doesn't get better will she be blind for the rest of her life? Will she die?

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
