I just got my beardie yesterday, and I'm yet to name it because I can't think of a name I like. What are the names of your guys' beardies?

I wanted an Australian name for mine (because dragons are Australian) so I named him Cooper after Cooper's brewery in Adelaide. Another way to go would be to wait a bit and watch to see if he does anything that warrants a name (no, "stinky" doesn't count :wink: )

That sounds like a great idea! I think I'm also going to wait a bit until I can tell if it is male or female for sure too.

That's a good idea too. But keep in mind it's OK to change the name up as needed. I don't think your dragon will mind =)

Watching his/her behavior, like Cooper said, is a great idea. I have 2 beardies, Spyro and Ember. Spyro was crazy when I first got him. He liked to jump on the screen and hang upside down. He would do this for a few minutes, rest a little then start back up. So I call him my Spyro monkey. My other munchkin I let my son name. He chose her name because she has red, orange spikes down her sides and some of the same color patterns down her back and tail. Good luck choosing a name!

I have been thinking about a 3rd dragon but have decided 2 is enough. Had I gotten a 3rd its name would have been Sobe after the drink. Why? The drink comes in many bright colors and beardie colors seem to resemble the drink colors like the oranges, yellows and reds. Seemed to make sense at the time lol. I agree you should wait and see what the personality is and name based on that. I have Emily who is very subdued and is my housekeeper between the two, she arranges her viv the way she wants it and I have Emmett who is a character, much like Emmett on Andy Griffith Show, hes curious, always into something and keeps me laughing.

im planning on naming mine Tiamat if its a girl, or Rudra or Agni (from breath of fire 1) if its a boy.

I named My Chimera, oddly enough i was wearing the band tee so i figured it would fit.

My dragon's name is Oscar. I named him that because I have two leopard geckos named Bert and Ernie.

There is also a blue tongued skink and 2 box turtles. But their names don't match the theme!

My buch got there names from thir colors mostly

Mama we were trying to come up for a name for and couldnt find one So we just started calling her mama
Tripod i got from my aunt they called him tripod after his brother bit his foot off but before that his name was cylde.

I like naming pets after book or movie characters that I like (LOTR is a favourite and has some great names!), but of course you have to take the animals personality into consideration too

When we first got mine and we didn't know if our beardie was a boy or a girl we were just calling it Gecko, lol. We had two names picked out waiting to find out, boy or girl. For a boy we chose Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander, or Zedd for short, if it was a girl we were going to name her Kahlan. He turned out to be a Zedd.

As said already....it is better to wait until you know the sex or what sort of character they have. Mine are named: Gomez as he is so fast when out.
Yardley because he has 3 and a half legs. Sherlock as he surveys all around him even his crickets. Nelson because he is always sitting on his column. Stumpy my only female because she had a very short tail. Hope this helps.

I named mine Trixi.
