I was just wondering if anyone had clipped their beardie's nails. Iksar has some gnarly ones! I suppose it is because he has always been on sand. Is it better to just let them wear down naturally on the slate? (Just got a text from my wonderful fiance. He just picked some up for me!) Thanks!

I would say you could do an initial trimming, and then let him keep grooming them on the slate. What I do, is get a small dog/cat nail clipper (the one that looks like a ring with a guillotine thing that clips it). Get a flashlight or a desk lamp, and examine their nails. They have something called a 'quick' which is the vein, and if you clip that, they could bleed a lot and it's painful. So under a light, It'll basically be a glowing red vein that stops like halfway down the nail. So be sure to give yourself a lot of leeway space from the quick when you do this. It'd be like clipping off the fleshy part under your nail  So just be careful when you do it. Or at least just clip or file off the needle-sharp tip they have and not worry about getting too close. Whatever you're comfortable with. :D I clip mine pretty often. I hate getting scratches all over my hand when I handle them.

I just set Swordtail's timer for his bath and paused it so I could actually fill his soaking bowl up and he crawled over my phone and canceled the timer 🤣
Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
