My new lizard! (A PetSmart rescue!)

Hey everyone!!! I'M BACK!! Like most of you know, I sold Bowser. I just didnt have the funds or the room in my car to bring her on the long drive from California to Missouri. Bowser is fat and happy with her new owner...who has the funds to care for her. Bugs are expensive for me...so I decided to get a lizard that doesn't require insects!!! I do hope you all will still accept me on here...even though I no longer have a beardie.

Meet...my new Mali Uromastyx! I was in contact with a few breeders, who were all sold out. I happened to be in Petsmart and saw the little juvenile Uro in a bitty little cage. He was glass dancing like crazy!! His skin is stained from calci sand (i hope that goes away) and he is missing one claw (not the toe...just the claw). These guys mature really slowly...he doesn't EVEN have his full adult colors (which should be black and yellow from what the breeders told me) I HAD to get him. He was overpriced...but I didn't care. I wanted to rescue him from the horrible Petsmart. So...I did!!!


I'm not sure what his name is yet. I'm thinking Edward (any of you read the Twilight series? I'm a sucker for it...) but i'm still not sure. But anyways...here he is!!! Help me think of a good name!! And please let me know if it's okay for me to be here even though I have a Uro instead of a Beardie.

I love his tail, it looks like a pinecone!

His face has berry stains on it...

He will grow probably about 7 inches more or so, he's still a juvie! They don't mature until they are 2-5 years old.

Here is his cage...it used to belong to Bowser, and is being passed on to my Uro (who is currently nameless)

Cold Side (yes, thats birdseed in there. They dig in it, and eat it...so i made a digging hole...he can eat it and dig it! haha)

Yeah, they don't have the digestive system to digest insects. You CAN give them bugs...but only like once a week. It's not good for them. They eat fruit, veggies, birdseed, and tortoise pellets. Which makes my life a whole lot cheaper!! I was spending a good 50 bucks a month on bowser's worms....

I got it from Dr. Fosters And Smith. I ordered it online (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/). They have tons of them. T-rex, Triceratops, Sabre Tooth Tiger (thats the one I have), and Crocodile. They are really cool and you can get them in like three different sizes i think.

Good looking uromastyx!! Hey, like your enclosure but you should put some nice terrarium wallpaper on the back and really pimp it out!!
