My new beardie, Nova.

Hello, I purchased a new beardie two days ago from Petsmart. I had a bearded dragon before, and it took me awhile to get over her passing. So my new babys name is Nova. He is in a 40 gallon tank, even though he's just a little guy. Hes on repti-carpet. But I was reading up on this site about the UVB bulbs, now I currently have a Zilla Desert Slimline UVB T8 on him, but I ordered a ReptiSun 10.0 from petmountain.com. He does not eat like he is supposed to though, so Im guessing that is because of the UVB light I have on him. He eats like 5 crickets and then he wont eat anymore. Will the ReptiSun help with that? I also bought a 150watt ceramic heat emitter, his basking side is around 108 f, and his cool side is around 83 f. So thats correct. The only thing Im worried about is him waiting 5-8 days for the UVB bulb. Will he be fine til the ReptiSun bulb comes?
If you wanna know more about my tank, or can give me any other advice, I would be more than happy.

turning off the UV may help untill you get the repti sun.

but is he lethargic or have squnty eyes? he is active?

No, hes really active. Hes very curious too. Hes always looking around, and exploring his viv. I mean, hes not skinny, he does have a belly, but Im just really worried about the UVB, because I read that the one that I have can cause MBD. I guess Ill try to keep the UVB off and see if it helps any. Hopefully the ReptiSun will come sooner rather than later. He eats his greens, which is good. I did feed him again about an hour ago, and he ate 5 more crickets, but I read juveniles can eat upwards of 30 or more a day.

it may just be relocation stress if he's still active and eating even a small amount. But the UV you have may be making him uncomfortable, if you want you can keep the UV on and if he deteriorates then its the UV. But i wouldn't risk that, 4-5 days without UV wont harm him. now 4-5 months is another story

Thanks! He seems to be eating better everyday now, when i fed him this morning he ate 7 crickets and 2 waxworms. And this evening he ate 10 crickets and 3 waxworms. So i guess it was just stress from the move. I just hope the ReptiSun UVB comes in soon. The order still says pending, but i placed it on Sunday.
