N'tho is rubbing all over his textured log he basks on. He's peeling good and grabs a few more bites of greens. Then belly surfs the dish, so he may have a slight green tint to his new skin.
Hope he sleeps okay, I will be an anxious mom all night.

Hi Atrax, Thanks!! I love Halo, I don't play it, but I love the cut scenes from Halo 2 & 3. I also collect the Elite figures and my main favorite is, The Arbiter. <3
I have the novels, Red vs Blue dvds, Legends and pjs too!! My 2 boys have all the Halo games on both their xbox360s. Fun to watch. Between N'tho and my Halo Elites, I am set for life. =D

I gave N'tho a bath this morning. He poo'ed and I took him out. After cuddling him for a bit, I placed him back to bask. His shedding is going quicker than I expected, which makes me more relaxed. His orange is nice and bright too. He ate some greens and a few small crickets. =) He seems nice and content now.

He wears his Romaine very well.

His colors are so much brighter today He's looking rather content chilling on the log there hehe
I'm glad the shed is over for him. They usually shed quickly (and regularly!) as little ones. The adults seem to have it take much longer it seems...
Glad he's eating pretty well for you and trying his greens. Romaine is the newest fashion accessory apparently ! :lol:

He's doing well! He's putting on weight now and enjoyed hanging out at work with me today and eating his crickets and greens
Sydney's a sleepy girl... she's almost (but not quite) sleepy enough to not want any insects when I offer them once a week. She finally ate them over on Sunday, but it took a while...But other than that she just naps on her hammock
They are so much fun to have and I"m excited for you to have a special little beardie of your own . Thanks for checking out my kids thread and I look forward to hearing about N'tho's antics to come

Hi Carrie

I had N'tho on my shoulder with a nice fleece blankie on most of him. He slept for almost an hour and then I returned back to his viv. Is there a maximum time limit on holding and cuddling the lovely baby? He seem a bit miffed when I put him on his carpet. I want to hold him some more, but don't know if I can hold him too much?
He such a darling guy and I can't wait until he gets much bigger, so I can at least tell he's laying on me.

awwww snuggle time is the best As long as they aren't getting too cold you can have them out for a decent amount of time. You obviously want them to have probably 8 + hours of basking and UVB time throughout the day, and 2 hours of basking after eating. But other than that you can have them out for a bit. Especially if it's close to bedtime or after the lights are out and they are snuggled in sleeping... there is no problem in my mind to keep them out for a while. Most of these guys love running around the house and exploring for a while - just keep a close eye, especially on the babies... it's amazing where they can hide. I've had to search my house for my beardies several times. After a while you learn their hiding spots, but they can always change lol I'd recommend letting N'tho explore a smaller space first if you have doors to close off a room or something, just to minimize him getting lost or overwhelmed potentially.
But don't feel bad letting your N'tho run around a bit or come out for snuggle time during the day

I have a question. N'tho has stress lines from his chin to his belly. I am to receive a ReptiSun 10.0 uvb tube and fixture very soon, I hope(Pet Mountain). When I set this up, will it help reduce the dark lines? I also ordered some ReptiWorms too, hope that will help too. I just don't like seeing him getting those lines of stressing out. =(

Hi I just noticed today, that twice N'tho had a couple episodes of head/neck movements that acted like he was spazzing out.
Pushing his stomach outwards and puffing his beard out like he's trying to burp, is the best way to describe what he did.
Just for a couple seconds each time.
We installed his 10.0 ReptiSun tube yesterday and his basking bulb is next to it, but raised a bit. It's a 100w Repti spot. His basking area is around 95 with a probe on the spot or next to where he lays. His cool side is 75-78. I am waiting for his Repti worms to arrive to try him on those. I gave him a bath for about 5-10 minutes and he wanted out. I noticed his tongue looked very light yellow, but he has drank a few drops of water. He did poop today and it was solid and urates were white.
He's 9 weeks old, 8" long total and he's in a 20 long tank.
I feed him greens(collard & mustard greens, which are rinsed and lightly dusted with D3), and I change the greens every 4 hours.
No vet check yet as this has just started 2 hours ago.
The crickets I had, were bigger than the space between his eyes, so I snipped the crickets in half and only gave him the body/butt end. I even removed the stick thing that is attached to the cricket's butt. Even the legs are removed. I don't feel comfortable giving him that old of crickets, but I had nothing else until the small crickets and ReptiWorms arrive.
He seems very alert and looking around. So the weird movements are puzzling.
Thanks for reading and maybe I am jumping to conclusions. I just think maybe the butt half of the crickets were not settling on his tummy?

UPDATED: N'tho seems great, got him ReptiWorms today and he ate like a mad dragon. I think the cut up crickets gave him a burpy indigestion? He's basking now after 20 worms, I will give him 10 in a bit. Just want him to have a happy tummy. Got baby crickets on the way here and will get them ready for N'tho. I panicked, sorry.
