My new babies!

Hello everyone! I'm brand new to the site so I thought I'd introduce myself and my beardies. :] People call me Silver.

Just yesterday I bought 3 baby beardies. I guess I'll start with the story about why I got them.

I'm not entirely new to Bearded dragons, because I rescued a Beardie named Lizzie years ago from my brother who stopped caring for her because she bit him and he resented her for that, however she was already an adult by the time I got her. I nursed her back to health and she was one of my (and my cat's) best friend! (no joke, when she was out, my cat would go snuggle up with her!). Last summer she died of old age, (I believe she was eight or nine) and I was left with an empty terrarium and parents who said I was not allowed to get anymore pets. Well, being an animal lover, I didn't give up and eventually convinced them to let me buy new Beardies (under the condition that I pay for all expenses)

After getting the ok from them, I decided I wanted to breed beardies so i was going to get at least 2 of them. Before I got them though I planned on buying everything I needed to prepare for them because I know that raising babies is difficult and I wanted to do the best I could.

Well, it took a year of preparing and trying to resist buying them as soon as I had the money, to actually break and buy three of them! XD

If Im lucky, two will be female and one will be male.

Im going to go ahead and post some pictures for you all :D

These are of lizzie:

And these are the new babies! Ive already named them but the names will probably change once I find out their genders.
The first one is Khip (hoping for male). He's super hyper, and is the biggest of the three.

The second is Boothar (hope for female), she seems to be the one who acts more dominant (from what I can see)

And the final and smallest of the three I have named Serenity (for now. Hoping for female) She seemed to be the calmest of the three but lately ive realized shes obsessed with her reflection. It's kind of funny to watch her run back and forth trying to see herself XD

If anyone has any tips on how to raise them, I would love to hear them!

Im really happy and excited to be part of this community and look forward to meeting all of you! :]

Welcome! There are plenty of topics covering every aspect of beardie care! If you have any questions at all, im sure you could find it here. If you can't, just ask- there are plenty of us happy to help! :D

Many of us on here prefer to use solid substrate (tile, nonadhesive shelf liner, repticarpet, and even paper towels) over sand and other loose substrates. Loose substrates can be ingested, and block up their system, as well as harbour bacteria and moisture. Just a tip!

Make sure to keep your little ones housed separately, to keep them from fighting and biting! I couldn't imagine raising 3 babies at once!

Congratulations! They are adorable. Where did you buy them from? Are they housed together or in separate vivs? They should really all have their own homes to avoid fighting and injuries. It would be a good idea switch that sand out for repti carpet or paper towels. Sand can cause impaction and possibly death. I lost one due to that ..was very sad. Welcome to the forum!

Ill be careful with the sand. :] My other beardie lived perfectly fine on it so Im not too terribly worried. I will be super careful now that I know sand can kill them. Ill make sure to move them into a different container to eat!

Im sort of hoping that growing up together may help keep them from attacking each other (although i know that's probably not going to happen.) A place I used to work at had 2 adult bearded dragons housed together and they were good friends, if Im lucky that will work for me as well. However i am keeping a very close eye on them to make sure they arent harming each other. If I start to see signs of aggression I will separate them immediately!

Thank you for all the advice and the kind welcome! ^-^

I got them from a store called Zookeepers.
Yes they're currently housed together, and Im hoping to keep it that way but if they start getting aggressive with each other Im going to separate them immediately. Im keeping a very close eye on them.
I'll also be careful with the sand! Ill take them out into another container to feed them so they dont ingest any of the sand. :] Thank you for the advice and kind welcome!! ^-^

As a tip for those who do opt for sand, Calci-sand is worst. Clumps when wet and stains your beardie. D: Finely sifted playsand is the best. :D

And the seperate feeding container is great :)

The sand I got was Exo-Terra Red Desert Sand. I don't know if it's calci-sand or not, it doesnt say on the bag o:

Oh!! But look, I just turned off their lights for bed time, and I just HAD to get a picture of this!!!!

This gives me hope that they wont get aggressive towards each other! (Im clinging to hope >.<)

And here are some other pictures of them

My kitty meeting the new babies (dont worry, she doesnt jump on the cage. I put a chair there for her to look at them for a little bit)

Serenity found the water bowl first

All three of them found my computer screen very interesting! Serenity especially seemed interested in the food. She loves her veggies!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
