Hello everyone! I'm brand new to the site so I thought I'd introduce myself and my beardies. :] People call me Silver.
Just yesterday I bought 3 baby beardies. I guess I'll start with the story about why I got them.
I'm not entirely new to Bearded dragons, because I rescued a Beardie named Lizzie years ago from my brother who stopped caring for her because she bit him and he resented her for that, however she was already an adult by the time I got her. I nursed her back to health and she was one of my (and my cat's) best friend! (no joke, when she was out, my cat would go snuggle up with her!). Last summer she died of old age, (I believe she was eight or nine) and I was left with an empty terrarium and parents who said I was not allowed to get anymore pets. Well, being an animal lover, I didn't give up and eventually convinced them to let me buy new Beardies (under the condition that I pay for all expenses)
After getting the ok from them, I decided I wanted to breed beardies so i was going to get at least 2 of them. Before I got them though I planned on buying everything I needed to prepare for them because I know that raising babies is difficult and I wanted to do the best I could.
Well, it took a year of preparing and trying to resist buying them as soon as I had the money, to actually break and buy three of them! XD
If Im lucky, two will be female and one will be male.
Im going to go ahead and post some pictures for you all
These are of lizzie:
And these are the new babies! Ive already named them but the names will probably change once I find out their genders.
The first one is Khip (hoping for male). He's super hyper, and is the biggest of the three.
The second is Boothar (hope for female), she seems to be the one who acts more dominant (from what I can see)
And the final and smallest of the three I have named Serenity (for now. Hoping for female) She seemed to be the calmest of the three but lately ive realized shes obsessed with her reflection. It's kind of funny to watch her run back and forth trying to see herself XD
If anyone has any tips on how to raise them, I would love to hear them!
Im really happy and excited to be part of this community and look forward to meeting all of you! :]
