Well hello all. I'm Alex and I'm both new to the forum and the world of bearded dragons as well. I just got my self a little girl whose yet to be named. she is a blood X Red Flame, and father is sandfire X Sandfire. I'm already in love and haven't had her for more then an hour. I do have 2 questions. One she has been rubbing her nose against the glass for awhile when I turned of the heating lamp for the night, do you guys have any ways of discouraging this? Also when I got her she had just shed but not completely her head was still un-shed(don't think that's a word), which could explain the nose rubbing. But should I just give her a bath? I would prefer not bothering her too much till she gets acclimated. Below is her posing already I can tell she's gonna be a handful.

Thanx
-Alex

Hello and Welcome :D
Awhhh she is adorable.Yes the nose rubbing can be from the shed. You can give her bath absolutely. This should help but you are correct aside from the bath I wouldnt handle her too much for the first week or so.

Do you guys feed you're kids one cricket at a time or just dump in a bunch and let them go crazy. I've already lost track of a couple and I figure she will find them eventually but I have red that they can irritate them at night while the beardie is sleeping. Just wondering cause hunting the missing ones down is going to be a PITA but feeding him one at a time in the morning when i'm in a hurry is going to be quite the nuisance.

Also want to show off my Dubia farm courtesy of TheRoachGuy.com I accidentally shipped them to my parents house and then had them ship the roaches from NJ up to me in Boston and they still made it 100% alive. The Roach Guy is awesome and I can't wait till I can start feeding off the colony. I used a low profile Rubbermaid so I can keep the adults under my bed I'm hopping that it won't become a problem : /

Very nice roach set up... I finished mine a few minutes ago.

I try not to put more than 10 crix at a time in the cage with a baby dragon.

Rite now I have her in her temporary enclosure which is what I believe is a 40gal hex. She seems to love the spiralling ramp and is constantly jumping from the neting to the ramp and to the branches in the center. She's loving it and I think I want to build my enclosure to mimic this. I haven't seen any relatively tall enclosures on here. Was curious if you guys have seen any you could refer me too for ideas. My first thought is making what looks like a spiralling branch going around the tank. below is my temp tank that hopefully will last him till I build him a bigger one.

Well beardies are Terestrial reptiles which means they are ground and land dwellers, your baby may like it but since its so small its not very safe to have it that high up with such a long way to fall down, It would be devestating for it to fall and break something. I myself have a 'Red Flame' baby, hes just turned 6 months old =] hes beautiful and a nice red orange color.

well then nix that idea. I saw her enjoying climbing so much I forgot about how big they get and how ungraceful she would be as a 18"> lizard.

Yea haha, but there are plenty of other types of cages you can build, it doesnt mean you cant give her ledges to climb on just dont make them so high off the ground, 7 to 10 inches high at the most to avoid injury.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
