My First Bearded Dragon!!(NEW PIX)

hello everyone my name is eric and i am a new(first timer) owner. i recently bought my dragon yesterday march 9,2012. His name is Chips . He is about 3-4months old. I bought him at Reptile Island in Stanton California (great store)

Every thing looks great besides that sand u will want a solid substrate tile repticarpet paper towel newspaper shelf liner and what UVB u using

Is the one I'm using ok for now?
Or the 10.0 is the way to go?

The 10.0 is the best way to go. Compact bulbs are no good. And you'll want to get rid of the sand ASAP.

For the sand. Will it be alright just to have as substrate because the way I'm feeding him I put him in a small container with the crickets or should I just get rid of it

Just get rid of it, beardies lick to lick and chances are he'll get sand in his mouth. It's better to be safe than sorry. Its a bummer sand isn;t good or sanitary for them, but that's just what it is.
