My First baby beardie

Hey there guys, i got my first baby beardie last wednesday and got my other baby beardie just a day ago, he isnt eating that much lately which is worrying me a little, I think its due to stress from being in a new tank but ill be keeping an eye on him just incase. it isnt my first beardie i have had 2 adults in the past and decided to try out a baby for a change and they are just adorable :3 I have 2 baby beardies they seem happy and i can already tell who the dominant one is xD I have named one but cant think of one for the other one so if you got any suggestions tell me please silly having a nameless beardie for ages lol The dominant one is named Jaffa because of the orange patterns he (im guessing is a he) going down his back, half of his tail, side of his body and the sides of his head. He is quite chubby and acts tough but he is such a cutie, hes sleeping on my neck under my hair right now lol this is my first post on here but not my first time on here this website has helped me with alot of bearded dragon problems ive had in the past so im glad i found it If you guys want a picture just ask and ill post a picture for you

If you open a (free) photobucket account you can upload your photos and then paste the url to them with the IMG tag here. You can use other hosts as well. I've used tinypic with success. You don't need to sign up, just browse, resize to message board spec on the dropdown and upload. Post the given url with IMG tag here.

Welcome back! Glad to hear you decided to get more dragons

Do you have your babies together in one tank? Having a dominant baby will affect the other one and may be why it's not eating. You might want to consider getting another set up for the one who won't eat, may be location stress, but babies don't always get along. Something to think about.

And please, as many pics as you can manage. I use Photobucket but there are other places you can post your pics & then trf them to here. CooperDragon knows more than I do

I'm sure he will start eating as soon as he gets used to his new location. Mine didn't eat well for the first few days he came home and two weeks later I can't seem to keep his hunger satisfied! I would love to see some pictures of the little guy!

This is the nameless beardie atm and dont worry about the red basking light in the backround i have replaced it with a white stronger light hes so adorable and mature its scary haha

Thanks for those pictures, they are both very sweet. Jaffa's going to have some orange in him, I can see.

Have you thought more on separating them? It will do them both good to have their own space.

yes they are only living together for a week or so more ill be getting a coffee table and another tank to put it on so they will both have their own space i didnt feel comfortable with them living together since jaffa is quite big but the other one, thinking of naming him mitch or duncan, has been eating and runs around aswell. Im quite worried they might fight or breed when im out so seperating them will be good

It's always good, they won't breed, they're too young, so make sure they have lots of food so they won't fight. Have you decided on a name yet, I like Duncan, seems to suit the little guy. Keep us updated k?

Yeah I feed them baby locusts everyday and mist the locusts 5 times a week, I feed both beardies wax worms only 2 each on a saturday. And I feed them lettuce and squash in a bowl with some juvenile soft pellets. yeah the little guy is called Duncan now :3

Squash is great for them daily, usually lettuce isn't, depends on what type. I've heard spring mix is available in the UK and that is ok for them. Collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens, dandelion greens and flowers, those are all better greens, but not sure what is available in your area. Here's a great nutrition list to check out www.beautifuldragons.com. Under Nutrition. It's a very long list of what dragons can eat and what they shouldn't.

So Duncan it is, he's a cutie, too, and once he's on his own, with his own lights, he'll grow & grow.

The lettuce is only temporary until collard greens are available at the store then I will feed them collard greens I have made a tiny mistake of feeding them locusts that are too big and Jaffa had an upset stomach but some squash flavoured baby food watered down with a drop of veg oil did the trick and he's a lot better and I've got much smaller locusts for them now Duncan is a cutie he's calm when you hold him unlike Jaffa who runs EVERYWHERE and loves to do the leap of faith onto the floor if you don't watch him.

They honestly think they can fly. I think they had wings in a previous life. My 3 yr old Gabriel is my flyer, I have to watch how I hold him because he'll just take off :lol:
