My female is showing "male" behaviors!!!

OMG last weekend we introduced Bella to Izzy for the first time [please keep in mind we got her to breed w/him]. She was so nasty, she puffed up, beard turned black and she started foot stomping and head bobbing at him. She ran over to him and grabbed the spikes on the back of his neck and would let go....I had to open her little mouth to get her off!!!! Is this normal behavior?! With our other boy Leo, she seems more receptive to his attention, they run around and grab at each other, then they will cuddle up and sleep together...is it possible she doesn't like Izzy?
They are all housed in the same room....I papered off the side of Izzy's tank that Bella could see...she often has a black beard and I will see her head bobbing occasionally.....I am sure she knows he is in the room!!!
Has anyone experienced this type of behavior from their females?

It's very possible she doesn't like Izzy or feels intimidated by him for some reason.

One of my females is like that too...it's almost like she's intimidated and figures she must attack first to ward him off. She sure can put on a mean act. She will even do this with her man/mate when she doesn't want to be bothered as well.

Izzy is not an aggressive male by any means...he's kind of a mamma's boy! The night she grabbed him, he came right to me crawled up on my chest and nuzzled in for safety. Hmmmmm...interesting, I wonder if she will ever be willing to breed? If not that's okay...well just see what happens I guess....Thanks

Sounds to me like you have a very Alpha female and that Izzy is not a very dominant male, unlike your other male Leo whom you said she submits to. A alpha female will not just "give it up" to any male, she has to be "tamed" by him. You need a very dominant male to breed a Alpha female. If he isnt up to the task you dont need to try it as he can end up getting hurt pretty seriously.

To my surprise this morning I walked in on Belle making "nice" with her blanket...Let's just say that she had a good grip on it with her mouth and her little hips were a going....LOL!!! I guess I should accept the fact that she is a he huh? This is the second time I bought a female from a breeder that turned out to be a male!!!! So no babies for me I guess...unless someone call tell that their female dos this, too!!! Please, anyone?!
and I guess Bella is gonna need a new name, too! :study: any suggestions?

who did you get it from? do you see pronounced preanal pours on the legs and vent area? do you see hemipenal bulges on the tail of the dragon?

An alpha female can exibit male tendancies. I had a female that was so alpha she mounted my male. If you want to photo the rear area for us to look at on here im sure we can sex your dragon for you. make it a photo like this.

How old are they both. If their of the right breeding age you can tell if its a male. Lift up the tail like Brian posted. You will see the 2 buldges running up the tail base.
