I had my beardie outside in the grass (on his leash). When I was ready to go in I went to pick him up and he puffed out and ran. I didn't chase him, but I didn't let go of the leash. Every time I would try to pick him up he would puff out again. He got to where he was turning toward me and opening his mouth in a threatening way. I took it as he liked being outside and did not want to come in, but I could be wrong. Is this normal behavior?

It seems to happen quite often.

I always wondered if it was because they are a bit skittish outside, or feel like they finally have their freedom, and here we are capturing them again. ;)

Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
Mirage entered brumation yesterday, I'm gonna miss hanging out with my little guy.
Getting ready for another day. Feeling sleepy. 😴
I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
