My baby has a large tumor. Help.

My beautiful little Kitty has had a growth on her side. On Tuesday, the only vet in our area that will see beardies said that the growth is not fluid like I first thought, but a large tumor. He said that it was not worth doing an ultra sound to see it better because it is, in his opinion, growing all the way down her side and perhaps spreading to the other side as well.
He believes that exploratory surgery would likely kill her and if the tumor could be removed, it would possibly cost between $500-$1000.
I can't give up on her yet. I love this dragon so much and she has been my comforter through many painful times over the past two and a half years. She is nothing but sweet, gentle, and is the most cuddly little dragon ever. She means so much to me.
If anyone knows homeopathic remedies or treatments for a tumor in a dragon, please tell me.
We take meticulous care of our beardies. They all three have correct temps, vitamins,calcium, UVB, basking lamps, carpet, greens. My husband says that I obsess over them too much.
Please help. I have been crying for two days.

I am so sorry this is happening to Kitty, and to you. I know of no homeopathic solutions, though someone else might. If at all possible, I would try to get her to a reptile specialist for a second opinion. Let us know how you're doing. Hang in there!

Aw, I'm sooooo sorry about your beloved Kitty. I have a suggestion, no idea if it will work but you have nothing to lose + it's a " no harm" kind of treatment. Google " baking soda shrinks tumors" In the article it mentions mixing it with maple syrup [ but use raw honey, it's a natural healing agent ] but what happens is that cancer thrives on sugar, so the mixture of baking soda + sugar [ from syrup or honey ] goes right to the tumor and the baking soda begins to kill the tumor. I have no idea if it can work, but read it + see if you'd like to try it. I would try it myself ....it's cheap + can't harm. I hope for the best, really do !

My girl Booger last year had a big mass growing and had to have surgery to remove it, plus she was forming eggs, and if the surgery wasn't done it would have killed her, either the mass or the eggs not being able to pass. I would get another opinion and see what happens. You don't want to wait to long at all. I almost lost my girl , good luck on helping your girl.

Oh my, I am sorry about your girl, Kitty. I agree, getting a second opinion would be good, as that is a rather large tumor.
The baking soda & maple syrup has been shown to be effective against cancer tumors. Be sure to use aluminum free baking soda.
She sure is a pretty girl! How are her spirits? Please let us know how she is doing.

Thank you for your response. I want to try the baking soda and raw honey, but I can only imagine what a small amount would be required. Is there a website that would tell how much?
In looking on the internet, I see that people are saying that a human would only take one teaspoon a day.
I have to try something. This girl is very special. I love all three, but Kitty is the most lovable, and beautiful of them. . She has my heart and I am just torn up about this.

I can imagine how upsetting this is, it's really a serious condition. I would only be guessing on a dosage.....I don't think there is any precedent to gauge how much you'll try, but I'm pretty sure that about 1/8 teaspoon would be a good trial amount with equal amount of honey. The honey would need to be thinned out, you can warm some water to add to make the whole concoction easier to administer with a syringe. Maybe she would even lick it off of a spoon or popsicle stick.

We rescued her from terrible conditions when she was a hatchling. All of her feet were infected and she was emaciated. That was two and a half years ago. Your advice them helped me save her feet and she had been such a joy to me ever since. I am praying that we can save her again. I know is a long shot, but. ..we have to try.

Let us know how things are going with finding a second opinion! Do you have any ideas of who to go to next?
The baking soda needs to be aluminum free & you can try either the honey or maple syrup though the maple syrup would be less sticky.
The baking soda works on getting the body's ph more balanced. Cancer doesn't live in an alkaline environment, only an acidic environment. Do you have any probiotics you can give to her daily?
To get started, you could just give water & baking soda too though it doesn't taste all that well.
That is right, a teaspoon, on average for humans. I would give 1/16th of a teaspoon or so, that should be sufficient.
To mix, you can mix a big amount & even take it yourself if you want to. Mix 1/3rd cup of baking soda to 1 cup of honey or syrup. Just store it in the fridge & take out what you need.
I have some medical links for it, if you want I can post them for you to read.

To day was Kitty's first dose. Boy, did she hate it!!! I mixed it with raw honey, quite a bit, actually, but she got one taste and ran across the bed to get away from me! I managed to get a few drops in her, but she was so mad at me! I have her a nice warm soak afterwards to relax her. And a snuggle. I will keep trying.

Aw, poor Kitty ! I think you might just experiment with different juice/syrup/honey mixes to get the baking soda down. Whatever she likes so " the medicine goes down". And I agree with the others, a second opinion if you can get one, maybe you'll find a good vet that feels more optimistic about surgery if you areable to do it.

I will try to contact the folks in Gainesville and see what they say. The are no other herp vets in our area, other than the one who said that she wont likely survive the surgery. Gainesville is about an hour and a half from us.
I just don't want her to suffer if it isnt going to help.
This is so hard!!! I can't stand the thought of losing her.

Tracie, what if I mix the soda some oxbow carnivore food? She if used to that supplement.
This is happening at such a rough time for us. My son just got out of the hospital with a lung collapse, and my little girl was just diagnosed with a very serious disorder. It has been a really difficult fall, and then to find out that the little dragon who has been my comfort is most likely dying is just so hard. I appreciate you caring about Kitty.

Oh no, she didn't like the mix? It does take getting used to the taste.
That would be ok if you mixed it with the critical/carnivore care food since she likes that. It would mask the taste.
I am so sorry about everything going on, that makes it so much harder.

Were they sure that it had attached to internal organs? Just hopeful that it had not grown into anything yet.
How is she doing? Please keep us updated on her.
