Thank you I am happy to be here I started lurking here before we got our first beardie so I could take care of him properly, my boyfriend wanted a lizard, and I fell in love with them also when we got our baby now named Baby. Right now we still call him baby, cause our new one is bigger than a baby
. But I have learned so much from reading all these thread and all of you more experienced people have made my job in raising a healthy beardie a lot easier! I was appalled at Stubs care before we bought him, They had him cohabiting in a ten gal tank with his brother, in sand, only 1 basking spot, she did not have uvb on all the tanks she said she rotated the uvb, she did not feed them properly (she fed them romaine lettuce, not healthy for them) , it broke our hearts!
. So we bought him right then and a tank, we had to go get a basking bulb and a t8 fixture cause I already had a
uvb bulb coming in the mail the next day. Plus Stubs gave me a scare we got him home and fed him and he must have ate more than he was used to (I think his brother was eating most of what they were fed) so the next morning he was puking and didn't eat all day, but the day after, he ate and has been steadily eating since. And he looks more filled out now, plus he is better
hydrated from his almost daily baths! He is still skittish so I'm hoping he will relax after some more time with us cause I hate that he jumps when we make movements, but it is understandable after the life he had. I just love my babies so much, and I just want them happy and healthy.
And totally off topic from beardies I am so happy that our crested gecko finally ate some live food, phoenix worms!
He never ate crickets but he ate a couple phoenix worms the past 2 days. So yeah, very happy about that.
