Just wanted to introduce myself, I've been quietly lurking on the forums for a week or so now just got our new little buddy a week ago and I love him/her not to sure right now what gender it is. Here is a pic of our baby.

Yes I did plenty of research before we got him, this site has been great extremely informative and I love hearing about everyone's dragons. We have yet to name him/her because we want to know the sex before hand so we don't have to change his/her name. We usually call him/her BD or Baby D.

Yeah he is a cutie, I don't know what he will look like when he gets bigger but he does have some oranges and yellows on his head. He is a character, right now he is mad at me cause I put vitamin powder on his phoenix worms. He is MAD! Hopefully he'll get over it soon.

just added a new beardie to the family, he is a sub adult that we named Stubs cause of his tail, he lost prolly an inch or 2 off his tail, like that when we got him. The lady at the store says he is 6 months, I'm not too sure on that seems too small for 6 months, he was in a 10 gal tank with his brother who was bigger, he is still pretty skittish, but I was happy to get him out of there.

Thank you I am happy to be here I started lurking here before we got our first beardie so I could take care of him properly, my boyfriend wanted a lizard, and I fell in love with them also when we got our baby now named Baby. Right now we still call him baby, cause our new one is bigger than a baby :D . But I have learned so much from reading all these thread and all of you more experienced people have made my job in raising a healthy beardie a lot easier! I was appalled at Stubs care before we bought him, They had him cohabiting in a ten gal tank with his brother, in sand, only 1 basking spot, she did not have uvb on all the tanks she said she rotated the uvb, she did not feed them properly (she fed them romaine lettuce, not healthy for them) , it broke our hearts! :angry5: . So we bought him right then and a tank, we had to go get a basking bulb and a t8 fixture cause I already had a uvb bulb coming in the mail the next day. Plus Stubs gave me a scare we got him home and fed him and he must have ate more than he was used to (I think his brother was eating most of what they were fed) so the next morning he was puking and didn't eat all day, but the day after, he ate and has been steadily eating since. And he looks more filled out now, plus he is better hydrated from his almost daily baths! He is still skittish so I'm hoping he will relax after some more time with us cause I hate that he jumps when we make movements, but it is understandable after the life he had. I just love my babies so much, and I just want them happy and healthy.

And totally off topic from beardies I am so happy that our crested gecko finally ate some live food, phoenix worms! :blob5: :blob8: He never ate crickets but he ate a couple phoenix worms the past 2 days. So yeah, very happy about that.

Went to the animal expo yesterday and my boyfriend got the savannah monitor that he has been wanting, will have to start build his enclosure soon, even though he is small now he will be growing so want to get that started right away.
I also picked up some dubias to try on my beardies Stubs loved them, thinking pretty hard on starting a colony, also got some BIG horn worms for the monitor and some smaller ones for the beardies, horn worms are definitely beardie approved they loved them, been giving them a few yesterday and today, not alot cause I know they are treats not staples, but a few everyday so they don't die on me. But both beardies absolutely loved them!! And the monitor liked his too. Got them from C & S Feeders at the expo and they were great explaing about how to start a colony of Dubias, and about saving me some small horn worms so we could look around without worrying if they would sell out of the worms! Definitely be buying some more of those at the next expo for the babies.

Well my beardie family is doing good, just got glazed porcelain tile for my Beardies tanks!! It looks great plus it is soooo easy to deal with. Just upgraded Baby's tank to a 40 gal breeder with front sliding doors and his stress marks have disappeared!! He must have wanted a bigger castle, he is 9 1/2 inches and he was in a 20 gal long and I guess he just wasn't happy with that! He also exploded last night with a full body shed...lol, it was comical he was so not happy, he was bearding trying to break his skin loose on his beard, rubbing his stomach and back on everything! He is much happier this morning. Stubs who I believe is 6 months old is now up to 140 grams he is filling out more and looks soooo much better than when we got him! and Baby is up to 62 grams and gaining weight everyday! I love my guys! :love10:

Aww so cute. Glad to hear that they are doing well. They do get really cranky during a shed. I aldo got tile for my beardie. it really is easier to clean.

yeah I love the tile, had reptile carpet and it was just a pain to keep clean knew I had to do something else, so I went with the tile for ease of cleaning plus helping to keep their nails filed down. I think they like it too!

Oh my when their nails get long boy do they hurt. My little one tried to give snuggles before bed and he scratched me badly. I'm so happy he now has that tile. I got a really nice looking sandstone color tile. It'll be great for his theme.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
