Im not trying to be argumentative, but that being said, it is NOT infrared, we can see the light, so it is visible light, not infrared. Also beardies have more cones in their eyes than we do, they see better and in spectrums we do not.
I'm not tying to be argumentative either - nor dismissive - just conveying information that was given to me from a variety of sources.
When so many different sources tell you the same thing, you tend to believe it, but I am someone that is always cynical by nature and looking for ways to improve things - especially for the care of my animals (My house is turning in to a bit of a multi-animal zoo (Crabs, several species of fish, dog and now beardy with more on their way after I finish training for my new job).
I find it amazing that stockists and suppliers or manufacturers are able to advertise something as being 'scientifically' safe or proven - advertising them specifically as infrared (it was on the box and in the information on the side of the box - as well as a variety of different websites who also condoned it over other lamps - if in fact they are not.
I absolutely despise ceramic heat emitters - but this is from personal experience and I won't be using them full time.
Time to go back to the drawing board to find something else - regardless - due to personal circumstances with work, I'd have to order it in, then wait for it to come, then fit it when it arrives on my weekend off (I'm being sent to a different city in my state for training so my partner will be feeding and caring for it but also does shift work, so the next few weeks are going to be tough.
Ramble aside - what is a non-light emitting lamp that is safe for 24/7 heat/basking that isn't a CHE (won't be getting those unless there are absolutely no other options or the little guy starts to go down hill or stops sleeping).
Considering heat lamps or globes are globes, from the research I've done there will always be residual light, and white light is worse than the red light or light emitted from the red globe. So I'm at a bit of an impasse.
