Hey all,
So poor yoshi has been having issues with digestion since she came home with us back in july. she has been to the vet several times and she has been diagnosed with coccidia, cleared, then diagnosed with pinworms and cleared. she was still having trouble digesting so another stool sample went in and she was diagnosed with coccidia again. she was treated with sulfa, then I bought the Acidophilus+ Digestive Tract Conditioner and gave her that but noticed she still wasn't fully digesting her food, so I gave her another round of sulfa, took in a stool sample and they said she was clear.
through all of this her appetite has always been great. as of two weeks ago I noticed her appetite decreasing and her stool had bug parts in it. so I ordered albon and the Herbal Supplement Immune Booster (to give after the albon treatment) and I have crit care from the first vet visit (thank god the vet didn't listen to me when I told her that yoshi's appetite was fine at the time), and I've just started the treatment yesterday so I realize I wont see results right away, but I'm wondering if anyone has ever had an issue like this and wondering what this could be. I really can't afford the $60 vet bills twice a month plus another $25 per fecal for them to say she's sick and then better and then sick again when her symptoms aren't changing at all between the "sick and better phases".
now of course the vet thinks that its because I'm not cleaning her cage but that just isn't the case. her cage gets a weekly cleaning where everything comes out and gets scrubbed with a bleach solution and then steamed. And of course poop is removed daily as soon as I see it.
here is the rest of her set-up info just so that base is covered. she's in a 36" long glass tank (still haven't built a xfire), she has a 24" repti-sun 10 and 2 halogen flood lights to get her temps up to 120 in her basking spot, about 90 on the floor of the hot side, and in the 70's on the cool side (unfortunately our house is chilly and even with insulation around the tank the cool end just can't get warmed up to a decent level). She gets a salad daily with a various mix of things (but right now she's even refusing to eat her favorite food), she normally gets 10 medium superworms a day and then a big bowl of roaches at night, but she is refusing to eat even her roaches which she normally eats like a starving pig.
Oh i should also mention at her last measurement she was 16.5 in and 330g

so I'm a dummy and also forgot to mention that when her appetite disappeared 2 weeks ago I also started noticing a little bit of mucus in her stool as well.
