Mucus draining?

Our 2yr old Milton has a severe respiratory infection. He has been on Baytril for 10 days and has an appt for his next Dr visit in about 24hrs.

Today I found him leaning his head off his bed and what looks to be mucus draining out of his mouth. I would think this to be a good thing, but it seems like so much is draining, that it is scaring me.

Is this a sign the junk in his lungs is breaking up and draining out or.....?

Mouth draining isn't usually a good sign but it could just be excess mucous related to the infection. The vet can take a sample of it and grow a culture and see what's going on. Perhaps the Baytril isn't effective against what's causing the infection.
