This isn't an image of my own dragon, but the baby on the left is almost identical to it. The difference in mine is that the pattern along the spine is connected and there are no dark spots. Also, the nails of my baby are clear.

Does anyone have any idea as to what morph this could be?

If your baby's nails are clear with NO black or dark in them at ALL then he is probably a trans. The lack of dark spots makes it sound like he might also be hypo. I have been looking at a breeder who has lizards which are both trans and hypo, so I know it's possible for them to be both. Beyond that I cannot say since the image will not load for me.

the owner of the pic says the baby is a hypo trans leatherback, but we are thinking ours is a hypo trans red ...

Oh, I see the picture now. Yes, that is indeed a hypo trans leatherback. Without seeing a picture of yours I can't say for sure what it is, but if it looks a lot like that lizard then it is probably a hypo trans as well. It's certainly a trans, at minimum, if it has the all-clear nails.

No problem. :) Well, I can see dark lines in her claws, albeit faint ones, so she is not fully hypomelanistic. And I think the other type has pure black eyes. So she's not homozygous for those traits anyhow. She may be heterozygous for one or both, though. IIRC they are incomplete dominant genes, so it would still affect her appearance if she were het. She is however very colorful; I think that pattern is called citrus? I'm not sure about that. But she is definitely a high-yellow specimen, if nothing else!

:) thanks you are talking about our big one right?? We figure she is a citris-tiger. and the little one we think is hypo he has all clear nails. the little guy (the one with less pics) is the one we are trying to morph. He has close to same patterns as the pics on this post but is not leatherback.

I had a hard time telling which was which in the first set of photos, but this helps a lot, thank you! Yes, he does appear to be hypomelanistic. I can't see his nails clearly but if they are totally clear without any dark color then he is almost certainly homozygous hypo. I'd be willing to bet money that he's at least het for hypo. The breeder who I am considering buying my next one from breeds babies which look like that; I think she calls them Hypo Autumn Reds.

By the way, be VERY careful with the older dragon and the younger one! They NEED to have their own separate cages if they don't already, and I would not allow them to socialize at all honestly as there is a VERY large danger that the larger one will decide to view the smaller one as food. Even if they seem to get along fine at first, that can change at any moment. It could be badly hurt or killed before you even have a chance to intervene. :( I hate to have to say this but I don't want you to lose your baby.

If both are female, when they are close to the same size, out-of-cage socialization might be safely possible, but otherwise I can't recommend risking it.

I had my hand on her and removed it long enough to take the pic. They are both in separate cages and we do not socialize them yet we are wanting to once they are older though.

Thank You lots for the help on his morph. :) :) :)

That's good to know. :) I just had to make sure as a lot of people do not realize that cohabitation is dangerous. It is very easy for humans to misinterpret beardie body language. When they express dominance, it often appears to us to be affection or warmth-seeking instead if you don't know any better. Once they are about the same size it might be worth a shot, but I would not ever put either of them in the other's cage with the other as that seems pretty much guaranteed to trigger a territorial issue. Neutral ground is best, I think, so no one can get any ideas about territory. And if they turn out to both be male it's not worth the risk, unfortunately. x.x Two males will pretty much invariably fight to see who is dominant.

You're welcome! I'm not an expert but I am very interested in genetics, especially color genetics in various animals, so I have been doing a lot of reading about beardie color morphs lately. :)

We have been looking into morphs, also. In January, we are gong to be starting our own pet store business, but at first we are only going to sell feeders. The pet stores around here are ... :puke:

Bonnie is def a female, so we are safe. We are hoping the little one is a male, but who knows yet.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
