Dubia are really good for beardies, easy to care for, too. I'd recommend them more than any other bug, so hopefully that will give him something to chase & eat! It's great to hear that he likes the new big tub, as for the treadmilling, I don't think beardies can see white or really light colours, to them it just keeps going on forever. My crew are always trying to walk through my light coloured walls in the living room, it's as if they can't believe there's an ending, but at least he turned around after bearding the side of the bath  He probably didn't like the pedialyte, if you're having him drink it, you should be mixing it with water 1:1, at least that's was what I was told. I've never given that to them, only put it in their baths. If you think he might be dehydrated, then feed him water mixed with 1/4 unsweetened apple juice, that might catch his interest, can't remember if he drinks water from a syringe or not.

I can just imagine what his colours at full force can be, I know the pictures just don't do him justice, must be a wonderful sight to see and so glad to hear he's basking again. His appetite will come back, spring is just around the corner, so that will help.

Thanks for the update!

Dubias haven't arrived just yet, but they will get here today. I've read that a lot about them not seeing or not understanding white, that might have been what it was. I caught that beard moment on video actually, I've been lazy on getting it to my computer... I'll try and get it up at some point because it was so funny. We were behind him so we couldn't get whole effect but it made my Fiancé and I both crack up. He's still lapping up pumpkin goo every day, ignoring the worms for the most part. Hopefully the little buggies running round will grab his attention.

Also, I added a dig box in his enclosure. He always tries to dig when he goes to sleep so I figured he would appreciate it. It's stressing him out a good bit more than I thought it would. He's been dark and hanging out on the cool end, away from the dig box. He slept on it last night but you could tell he wasn't pleased. If he isn't happy and used to it by the end of next week I suppose I'll remove it, but I want to give it a chance. Alfalfa pellets BTW, small ones.

So not only did he eat a load of dubias today, he ate a load of dubias twice. First round he ate about 60 of them, then later he took another 20 :blob5: I ordered small ones, maybe a little longer than the biggest reptiworms. Bite-size for sure but he sure did love them. He was basking when I held a dish full of them next to his face. He started staring, then held his tongue out while moving his head trying to pick the first one. Bam!-crunch crunch crunch... then he stares at me for a good 5 seconds as if to say, "really, I've been here all year and you just now let me eat one of those". After that he picked them up one after another. So, hooray!

He's definitely being weird about the dig box situation. He spent more time over there today, but you can tell he's not feeling it yet. I think I made it too tall. It's not hard for him to get in and out of, but I'm going to rework the divider and take some alfalfa out to see if that helps. I have some pictures of him to share, as well as the bath video

^his head barely fits in there any more. When I got him his whole body fit in there with just some of his tail poking out  Part of the reason I put the dig box in was to help him fit in his sleepy-spot... he can dig around in there now so he doesn't have to contort to fit. Well, I came home today to find Moose trying to nap (remember when I said he takes a nap if he sees someone sleeping? He still does that, not sure why he feels the need, but it's a sure thing)...

Well isn't that great that he's eating again! And I loved the pic of him swimming, shows his colours well, he's a real neon orange dragon, that's for sure! Don't you love the way he swims, like Leo and Gabriel, just go, go, go & then STOP, like something inside just shut off  Great exercise for him. The pics of him trying to fit in the base of his log are funny, too, amazing how much he's grown to only fit his head in that space now...poor Moose, he's living up to his name!

He's been eating great since the dubia came in. I just ordered some more, hopefully I have enough left to keep him happy for the time being. We love watching him swim, and his colors are especially bright in the bath. It's a crazy transformation to see how he looks after hanging out in the cool side for an hour and then right to the bath.

He's been doing good for the most part. He enjoys getting out of that cramped 40gb and spending time with me. Sometimes when I go to put him back he will run up my arm. He got mad at me again on Saturday though. I was feeding him pumpkin when he gave me a black beard. I took him to his bath to clean him up and get him to settle down but he kept gaping at me. He wasn't happy until I put him back home. I stopped feeding him from the syringe. He didn't really seem to mind that much but he got mad on a couple occasions... It wasn't really helping anyway. He pooped last weekend but held it again until last night, even though I'd given him pumpkin every day... Here's the aftermath

We celebrated Mooses hatchday yesterday, he's officially 1 year old. How crazy is that. Yesterday was the first time in weeks he didn't eat a ton of live food, but for his hatchday he had a big salad consisting of only his favorite (mustard + calcium). He ATTACKED it.

Sorry I don't have any new pictures to share, I've been real busy lately.

To Moose, one of my very best friends :)

Sorry for my hiatus, my life has been all over the place this year and I just haven't had an abundance of time. Moose is doing great, happy as can be. His appetite has really been quite sporadic since his winter slowdown. One week he will eat over 20 full sized Hornworms, another week he will refuse anything but dubias and sometimes I can't even get him to eat a salad. His eating habits used to be so predictable but now it's a crap shoot. I've taken him outside on a few occasions (with his dragon tamer lead of course) he enjoys the sunlight but he gets sketched out pretty easily. He's fine as long as he's on my shoulder, though. He loves coming out of his tank of course, he will usually snuggle up under my chin and fall asleep if I let him. Oh, and he hasn't pooped in his tank in months... He finally understands that it's s so much easier if he just does it in the bath... So that's great.

I'll try to get some new pictures up soon!

Till next time

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
