He's had a bath three days in a row as a result of being on our normal bath schedule plus the bath we give all dragons on their day of shipping and the bath as he arrived so he's probably not needing to absorb much water at this point.

He's also been given bearded dragon bites as stated and he'll eat his greens (primarily collards) pretty well and we tend to cut off the bugs just before shipment to make sure nothing harder is sitting undigested in his system.

Those with the possibility of a little relocation stress and you can get a green one. :p

He should be back to normal as early as his next poo.

That being said, it never hurts to get a fecal test done fairly regularly for peace of mind.

We're going to love seeing your updates on little Moose!

Looks like his reptiworms are waiting at the post office. Hope he likes them, Noodles was scared to death of them  poor little noodle . I checked on moose 2 hours after lights on and he still wasn't basking, is that normal with the relocation stress? He seems much happier with his nose dug into the glass. The hottest part of the basking branch is now at 103 to see if he was just uncomfortable with the heat. After eating 2 wax worms today he did bask. I had to leave about half an hour after he ate so I'm not sure how long he was there, though.

So you wouldn't recommend any more baths? I was hoping to get him on a potty schedule. I'd rather clean it out of his plastic tub than off his basking log again.

Someone just scarfed down 20 small reptiworms... and it wasn't me :D

I'm so proud of you for not eating the Reptiworms!!!

LOL j/k - I'm so glad he ate for you!

Stella HATED Reptiworms when she was a baby. She would try to eat them and then spit them out.

We fed his clutch mates some ReptiWorms today too and they scarfed! Great to hear he's eating great.

How's he doing as far as stress marks and is he having any problems with his shadow or doing better there too?

You should be able to bathe him on a regular schedule without issue. If you do it daily, you may just notice some water coming out with his urate / stool as he won't need to re-absorb as much.

I'm glad he ate them too. Once he had one he wouldn't stop :) I guess he just wasn't a big fan of the waxies, weird.

He still has some stress marks, but they're very light. He didn't seem to have an issue with seeing himself today. I got a background picture for his tank but I haven't put it up yet. Thanks for the tip on the bath. I gave him another one tonight (he is so easy!) but no poos. Ah well. One thing I wanted to ask, I've been using distilled water for his baths. I've done some searching but I couldn't get a clear answer on whether or not it's safe to use tap water. Figured I'd ask your opinion. Should I continue heating up distilled water, or can I just use warm tap water?

Thanks!

aww little Moose is adorable! I'm glad he's found his forever home. I've been watching him on FB since he hatched and he's a handsome man! :) Congratulations! :blob5:

I'll just start using tap water then. Szubelak: he's in good hands, my fiancé and I love him very much :)

Here's something interesting for you. When he pooped the other day he walked off his basking log and waved. I thought it was just coincidental and he was waving at me. Well he pooped this morning after he ate (15 reptiworms for breakfast :D) and he walked back and waved... Is he waving at his poop? This one had some green at the end but most of it was a normal color. I'll try to get some more pics for you guys tonight.

So I've been feeding the babies more bearded dragon bites lately and have to say it definitely turns their poop more green, haha.

Moose is quite darling... Looking forward to hearing more about how he is doing and watching him grow.

Being from Alaska and having seen a ton of moose, I find his name just cute as can be.

The hardest part about living in Alaska, and probably good thing, or I might be the "weird lizard lady down the street" is that we don't get bearded dragon breeders that ship up here, and don't see them all the time in the pet stores. Heheheh I could see me now... vivs all around---

I am glad he liked the Reptiworms. Mine love Phoenix worms (same thing right?) and silkworms. Heck they love everything I give them. Funny lil guys.

Glad you are happily enjoying your new addition.

He keeps pooping in the exact spot on his basking log. GRR. At least he's a good eater, he ate most of his salad yesterday and over 40 reptiworms. Already had 23 reptiworms today. Yes phoenix worms are the same thing, they sell repti worms cheaper though. Here's a few more pictures.

Most of my pictures aren't even capturing his color very well (viv lighting sucks for iPhone cameras). My D300 is out of commission unfortunately or I'd get some better shots. Davids pictures in the first post are best, but the bath pics aren't too bad. His head and tail are both in shed ATM, but it doesn't seem to be affecting his temperament or appetite... If it is, I can't wait to see how much he eats once he's done  Went through another 40+ reptiworms today, and he does great with salad. I've been giving him a mix of collards, dandelion, mustard, and turnip greens, I've also been adding butternut squash and bearded dragon bites on top of the salad... So far I've only given him reptiworms and wax worms... He seems to prefer the reptiworms. Nowhere around here has small supers and I don't really want dubias... I'm going to try small hornworms in the coming weeks. I'd say he's pretty big for 2 months old (hatched May 8th) but he's got a heck of an appetite!

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
