As promised, pictures, his tail didn't finish shedding, ugh. Oh, and he weighed in at 180 grams today :)

My he's gotten huge  and his colours are getting brighter & brighter. You're so lucky he eats his salad, I have to hand feed all 5 of mine, they won't eat salad in their tanks at all, just play with it. So bless you Moose for being a salad head! Good boy! Thanks for the update, I miss seeing pics & hearing about his adventures. And make sure you soak that tail to get that shed off, it's really important as it can cause an ugly infection, which you sure don't want. If you have trouble try soft toothbrush to help it along, if that doesn't work try pure cocoa butter, it worked on my beardies with retained shed.

Moose, you are one adorable beardie & Steven you are one generous person to share him with us all!
Thanks
Deb

He's gigantic! Almost ready for a bigger tank already, just 5 months and 2 days old  He's going to be a big one for sure- I was planning on a 4 foot tank but I may opt for something larger... spoiled. And yes his readiness to eat salad has surprised (and pleased) me since day one. I've been giving him baths daily with this shed since it's been stubborn. I'll try the cocoa butter, I can pick some up later.

I witnessed the funniest thing this morning... I heard him pacing and crunching, but I hadn't gotten his salad ready yet, so I look over at him, he was circling his tail chomping at his shed  Oh Moose...

Oh my, he sure knows what needs to come OFF and NOW, he's so funny. He definitely is HUGE and is just going to get bigger & bigger, can't wait to see what he is at a year old. You just might need to get bigger than a 75 gallon, even though my huge dragon Rubio is very happy in his 75 gallon, gives him lots of room to buzz around. At last weight in he was 804g, and he's not fat either at that weight. So I have a feeling your Moose is going to be like Rubio!

If I can find the space a 5X2 foot tank would be great for him. His tail and legs are done shedding and his face shedding right now.

I got a couple salad eating videos for everyone,

That's it for now,

Wow, I am so impressed, he actually runs to the from of his hide when he hears you coming with the salad! Mine won't go near it unless I hand feed them all, that's 5 dragons no less. If I put salad in their tanks, they play with it, maybe poop on it but won't eat it. So watching Moose go so impresses me. For my crew, my hubby was retired & always fed them by hand, so once you do that they won't go back to eating it on their own. So I so envy you two! Keep it up Moose, it's so good for you!!!

I am definitely fortunate in that Moose will always eat his salads :) I cant imagine having to hand feed 5 of them every day. I took some more pictures of him today, ill try and get them up tonight, stay tuned.

Wow! His colors are amazing. He's really going to be a beauty when he grows up. He's so adorable. I just got my first beardie and I know your excitement. Enjoy.

Moose has been acting weird these past few days... he gaped at me when I was holding him the other day, he's been glass dancing to the back off the tank almost constantly, he isn't eating a lot, and he jumped off me when I was holding him earlier (down about 4 feet to the floor). Hopefully he gets passed whatever it is that's bothering him soon. I don't know what it could be, he usually eats like a monster and can sit with me all day if I wanted I'm to... I was thinking of taking a fecal sample to the vet this week to make sure he doesn't have parasites bothering him. Any other ideas? His temps are fine and his uvb doesn't need replacing until the end of next month.

I apologize about the picture situation, my computer crapped out on me... and then my phone stopped working a few days later. I'm working on it lol.

It's winter time, they all slow down to a certain degree, don't eat the same & act strange. Plus he'll be a juvie soon, which means he's a teenager in beardie terms, which means he's going to act up, so don't take it personally. I've been through it a few times  You just have to go with the flow. I don't think he has parasites, but if you feel easier having a fecal done, then do so. As for taking off, didn't you know that all beardies think they can fly? It gives us a heart attack every time it happens, but it's all part of the package. Lonzo, my 9 1/2 yr old, took off from the bed, flew 3 feet down, luckily only carpet. Gabriel, my 2 yr old, really does think he can fly. When he's snuggling on my shoulder, if I'm not fast enough, he'll fy off my shoulder. Luckily there haven't been any injuries, just my heart  so now I make sure I put my hand up when I feel Gabriel crouch, and Lonzo isn't allowed up on anything higher than a foot. Honestly, they don't stop, no matter how young or old. It's all part of their makeup I guess. Wait until he's in full puberty & discovers he can make his beard big & black! That's always fun!

Just sounds like the winter kookoos to me. Rouge had been acting the same way. But if would make you feel better to have a fecal done, go for it. It can't hurt to be sure :D

Yesterday and the day before he went crazy for hornworms... over 20 rather large ones per feeding  Today, I think he's eaten three. That said, he will still devour a salad every day. Back to running and sleeping I guess. Anyway, I finally got those pictures up that I took a week or two ago so those will follow. When I weighed him on Tuesday he was at 225 grams...

Fresh out of his deli cup... (two months old)

I took this one just a minute ago... he used to be able to get in there completely... now only his head fits.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
