Missing dragon, will he survive overnight?

As I type this, I am absolutely devastated. My beloved male bearded dragon appears to have gone missing on my estate after I left him out in the garden. Every day it's sunny, I just let him out for several hours and he'll usually just rest under a bush. When I went outside today however, I noticed he'd taken a poop right near the gate leading out to the front garden. Both sides of this gate have gaps that are big enough for him to walk under, so now I believe he's wandered off to some different part of the estate.

I've searched bush for bush with absolutely no sign of him at all, even in the back garden which I doubt he could of gone back to since there is some steps to the lawn that are too high for him to climb onto. He is also a bad climber as one of his hands is stumpy and missing claws. I have feared among many things, that a cat or a bird may have got him, or if he'll die overnight. I don't live in the warmest place unfortunately. I live on a Northern England residential estate which has an approximately 10-15°C temperature at night during this time of year. Someone told me that he may come out of his hiding spot and into an open spot in order to warm his blood up.

Still, I have been nothing but upset and horrified about this, and feel like a neglectful owner for not checking on him earlier when I could have done. Even then, I want you people to just give me some sort of idea as to what could have or will happen to him, good news or bad news. Thanks. :(

I have heard of dragons surviving a lot of things so he might be okay. When he turns up, give him a warm bath and put him in his tank. I would recommend getting a harness or an outdoor enclosure. Good luck.

You may want to consider bringing in your neighbors to help search the area (or at least thier property). Tell a few kids youll give em an ice cream cone or something :)

Hi. I just wanted to say 2years ago we lost our beardie out side for 6 weeks and we even left on our family vacation a few days later after looking everywhere. We were sure he was gone( lots of cats in our area). We came back 10 days later still no sign of him looked some more. We looked and looked finally we just gave up. Any way my husband was out in the garage 6 weeks later and went around the corner and found him just standing in the same spot where we last saw him and he was bigger and still healthy. We were amazed he made it. We just wish he could talk and tell us about his adventures :D . I really hope you have the same happy ending :)

Like in destiny1998's story, they found their dragon after 6 weeks. He is probably okay. Whatever you do, do not get another dragon. I would wait a few months to do that. If you get a new dragon and find the one you lost, you would have to get another everything which can add up to be a lot of money and work.
I hope you find him.

Thanks Brandon. I am confident he is still out there alive and well, but I fear he won't return.

Already got a good amount of neighbors searching and keeping an eye out.

That's great to know, and does make me feel a bit more confident that I'll find him. However, I feel like I can't go on for several weeks without him, it would result in many restless nights. What I really want to know though his, what was your climate like during that time?

Good news everyone! Little guy was hiding under my shed, managed to get a glimpse of him with a torch app on my phone. We tipped over the shed and got him out, he's alive and well. Turns out he never did leave my back garden after all. Next time, I will always keep watch of him while he's outside. Other than that, nightmare over!

Yay! That's great :D . When we lost our guy it was the end of May to mid July. We live in Montana and in May the temps were still cool at night like 30s, 40s. So yeah they are tougher then what we think :D

I can imagine Montana being a cold state, especially since it borders Canada. I do wonder how long he would have survived under that shed.

Certainly is. Losing a pet is a horrible feeling.

Mirage came out of brumation on April 26. He was doing great. On May 2 he started acting funny. We just redid his tank, and he keeps going into one of his hides. He just lays there. He shows no intrest in food. HELP!
is tape safe for fixing something in my leopard geckos hide?
Day 3 of brumation. It's a struggle. I really miss my little guy. 😔
